Title: LE21 Verses Alpha 211
Post by: Pat on April 16, 2008, 09:01:16 AM
I know the Alpha is the newest great thing and everyone is swapping to an Alpha from an LE, but I have a concern about the dry storage in the Alpha 211.  Below is what the website shows for dry storage.  Notice that even the 199 has more than the 211.  How can that be?  Is this an error on the site?

Total Dry Storage

LE21      38.8 Cubic Feet

Alpha 211   25.5 Cubic Feet

Alpha 199   34.6 Cubic Feet

Those of you that have had both, how would you compare the two.  I honestly donít care if one is a few miles per hour faster than the other.  I am mostly concerned about how they fish and the storage.  I need the storage because I never fish without my son, so we both have all of our stuff in the boat and we always keep 18 rods and 2500lbs of absolute necessities. lo

Thanks,

Pat

I think that must be an error on the website.  I have one of the newest Legend books with all the models listed and here is what it shows for dry storage:

LE21         38.8 cubic feet

Alpha 211    44.4 cubic feet

Alpha 199    34.6  cubic feet

LE195       34.8 cubic feet

LE186      31.9 cubic feet

In comparing the LE21 (which I use to have) and the Alpha 211 (which I now have), there is more dry storage in the Alpha 211.  On the rear deck of the LE21 there was a built in ice chest and that is now storage on the Alpha 211.  The second ice chest is just behind the front deck on the Alpha 211.

Hope this helps.

That does help Mike thanks.  I thought there must be an error there.
