I am looking for a mid 90's pantera, but a friend of mine has an '07 Puma with a 250 XS Racing Mercury. Awesome boat. With two people in it it runs around 78 mph on a GPS.

Running a late 2003 Pantera III with a 2004 Merc Opti 200.

Pantera III is a great rough water hull, probably the best rough water hull Bass Cat made. 19'4" and will outrun most 20+ foot boats in the rough stuff.

The new Pantera IV is a close second.

THe Pantera 3 is the best pure " Tournament Boat " that Bass Cat has ever built.  The Hull and the angle of the V is built for rough water handling but still able tog et up on top for a really good top end of 70+ with a 200.
Deck layout, fuel storage are all built for TX fishing.
Would not be surprised to se the P3 hull brought back in the future with an FTD style deck layout.

New to me 05 sabre with 05 yamaha 175 hpdi just brang home 3 weeks ago i love my basscat ditched the skeeter for it couldnt be more happy low 70s only been out a hand full of times on vacation next week so you guys know what i will be doing. ps new to the site thanks

I have a 2011 Pantera Classic with a Yamaha 175 HPDI, 8" Slidemaster jackplate, 788 Humminbird at the dash, 728 at the bow, Minnkota 80 trolling motor. Two 200 lb. plus guys, full tank of gas, live well full and fishing gear, 95 degree day water temperature 86 degrees it will run 65.8 to 66.5 GPS depending on conditions. Latest speed in cooler temperatures 68.3 GPS.

I've only gotten it to 69mph. My first bass boat, still need some seat time to get used to it, etc.  The guy I bought it from had us up to 79 gps when I went on a test drive though.

i've heard that from more then one person too.  Seems logical that a wider deck boat based on PIII/PIV with new Eyra/Cougar graphics on the top cap would be just what the 19'ers need.  There hasn't been anything introduced in six years in the Pantera lineup and it's time for a refresh there IMO.  If I were a betting man that's what I think will be the next new cat introduced.  Some desire the 225 but can't see that happening because Rick Pierce is not a 225 power plant fan.  Just get a boat like this out with a 200 and I'll race to be first in line!

My Basscat is a 1999 Jaguar DC w/a 225 hp Opti. It was Gov. Mike Huckabee's boat when he was in office. It has 234 hours on the hour meter and runs strong. I think it has every option B/C had at the time.

This is my 11 PII as it looked when I picked it up from the Factory. My dealer was Sherm's Marine and I live in California. I cant thank BCB and Sherm enought here. This boats totally excedes my expectations. It fishes great and is simply a rocket..As many a R driver now know.

Man that is a sweet rig.  More importantly, I am so jealous of that Garage.  It looks like you could fit several boats in there.   ;D

I have a 2007 Puma with an E-Tec 250.
Bought this boat in 2010 from Paul Pfliger in NY.
It is nicely at home north of the border where winter last only as long as I want it to.
Have met a few of the Bass Cat guys from Penn. up in Canada fishing the Big Rideau.
If you're coming up this year, let me know and I'll meet up with you again.
Just beware GAS prices are going to be crazy.

2004 PIV WITH 200 Evinrude, purchased new, motor has 163 hours, boat kept at vacation home on Lake Barkley, great boat to fish out of, can go very shallow when fishing buck brush ~cf

I'm running a 1998 Jag with a 2004 250 HPDI and a 26 fury. Best she's run yet was 74.9 GPS carrying to big boy's (right at 500lbs) full gas, full livewells and tourney load. Had some current but also had 40lbs of anchors upfront I forgot to take out lol.

Thanks Guys I noticed a thread from bbc and figured I would join! Thanks she is like mint found a good boat going to be adding new carpet and getting rid of the floor decals sometime this winter and doing some up dating of the electronics. What setup are you running fly? I noticed you went from humminbird to lowrance what is your thoughts I'm thinking of doing the same myself like a Gen 1 HDS 8 and Gen 1 HDS 7 with LSS 1 setup.

  I know you asked Fly , so hope you don't mind my .02  :)  I have done some serious economy "Stimulating" with Lowrance in the last 12 months .  I think your choices will be perfect   But would offer a couple opinions . You could get a Gen 2 HDS 8 for a song right now and probably by next year early , even cheaper with the touch units out  . I am getting ready to buy another 8 or 10 in a month or so , I would suggest getting the biggest screen your wallet can handle :) I wasn't happy with the 5 so I got a 7 wasn't happy with that so I got a gen 2 8 and now I want another 8 or 10 lol   You can get a Gen 2 HDS 8 Basemaps for about $70 more than I paid for a Gen 1 7  basemaps 10 months ago :)  and the 8 and 10 both have the shortcut buttons which is Sweet !
Go Big !  You will also want Sonic hub and 2 LSS units :).
  Now Fly can tell ya all about switching from HB to Lowrance as I have no experience with HB.

Awesome any Input is always welcome thanks! I will step up to 2 HDS 8 gen 2's then forsure with the LSS-2 and get the sonic hub didn't realize how close in price the Gen 2 units were to the Gen 1 but I can understand it because they have the touch screens now. Thanks for the help again.

You lucky dog!   What are your color schemes?  13 years with the Jag?  You got your monies worth out of that boat.  I absolutely love my bros 1998 Jag.  What a great boat and layout by today's standards.

PIV after having one is a fantastic boat.  It's a Puma with out the price shock by comparison.  The PIV's  rear storage boxes are huge and biggest I've seen in the whole BassCat lineup from my recollection.  Other then that I like the boat.   :)

2002 Pantera Classic, 200hp Optimax big block - Croxton 25" Razor3 prop. This is my 10th bass boat and would have to say the best one of them all. Fast, handles great in the Ca. Delta waters I fish, most economical bass boat with motor that size I have ever owned. Do a lot of running in the Delta and despite that average just over 4 gal. of gas per trip with some of those being fairly long distance 10 - 12 mile and when in a tournament at speed. This rig always gets me there and back, very dependable. Only boat I have had not bought new, had it almost 6 yrs. now and great!

They have been really great over there at the Basscat store. How great is it to call on a boat this old and still get what I need. No one else can touch there boats or customer service.

Its going to be a fine boat when we are done. Its in great shape now. Just going to update it.
Doug and Tina are going to replace the carpet in the boat and on the trailer fenders.
We are getting the grey/blue color carpet. Seats will be white with black/coal inserts. Butt seats the same, with me and my wife's names on them. 
The green carpet is no longer offered, so we are adjusting the colors.
My first Basscat, and love it. Plan on keeping it a long time.

wife and I run a 1987 Pantera 19' with a 1986 Johnson GT200, love the boat and now the motor is very very close to where she should be.  One more thing that makes it all so sweet, the price for the rig.... FREE!

I finally got over here, I had user name issues, BIG thanks to Mike Noble who helped me out.

Anyway I have a 2012 Margay 150Pro XS (the one that Sherm had for about a year), it's my first real bass boat and after a year Im still playing with setup and learning to drive it. Best speed so far on GPS was 65.6 with 2 guys loaded for a tournament and full fuel, empty livewells in the middle of January.

I'll try to post a pic, I dont have any with me driving it, and I keep forgetting to take one while it's at the ramp.

well guys all nice boats , but at 80 years old and still bass fishing you can understand why I don,t feel the need for speed, let me  tell you about my boat its a 1977 16 foot Ouachita
with a 105 hp Chrysler that bought new 37 years ago for under 5000.00
it has served me well never left me on the water and I have spent less than 800.00
on it oh and speed 48mph

Hey everybody,just joined this site.I just bought a 88 pantera with a 150 rude boat is in incredible shape.Havent had it in rough water yet.My Dad says I made a mistake cause it's dangerous boat in rough water.He bought a Champion new in 87 and still has it.Anyway he also said there is no way that my boat will hit 60 mph needless to say it ran 60 yesterday.Anyway what are your thoughts on the cat in rough water????
