tips for el dorado from a 14ft jon boat. no motor

I was thinking about fishing  el dorado this weekend. I have a 14ft jon boat with a paddle. I can launch anywhere because I have a 4x4 and I can carry the boat by myself. I want to catch bass. Lil help? Where to start? Type of structure? Anything will help. Thanks
