10/12/13
Maple lake, total overcast, temp 55, 20-28 mph winds from the west, water temp stayed between 59-60, very clean water-12 feet.
It was tough fishing with that nasty wind, but they were biting, my partner and i had our limit in the first 90 min. We were catching them on the outside weed line witch varied from 10-18 fow with jigs. Threw out the day we caught a few on buzzbaits, couple on a 3/4 spinnerbait , slow rolling it in deep water. Half way point we had enough success on the deep water jig bite to finish the second half just doing that.
We ended up winning( for the 2nd year in a row) with just over 17lbs, which is a monster sack for this lake. Second place had a little under 15, another huge sack, third had about 13. We also won big bass with 3lb 15ozer. Had very high winds and some light rain most the day, but the fishing was great.
