This one is staying stock except for some bearing addition.
My wife says she is gonna leave me if I go fishing one more time........lord how I will miss that woman.

Here is some more to include some rod porn. A couple of these are Denali signature series rods I just picked up from Gwamba. Some of the finest rods ive ever held.

Nice man! Just FINally Got my HG LH Curado I in. The 6 gear should be next week, it's OTW!
Along with adding Curado d 7 gears to my core 101, and a couple more irod airs coming, I'll be adding more tackle porn myself! I'm excited about the Avail products that were just released for the new shimanos... No drag star upgrade needed!

Dark3

Cool. I have boca 7's in there with the seals removed. They cast like a dream and my co doesnt have a prayer to reach the spots i can so I am rarely fishing left overs

Dark3

I have been using 2 brake tabs plus 4 on the wheel. Barely any tension. Thats with a drop of lightning lube on the bearings and race surface ;)

LgMouthGambler

Them Curados look good

TSI321 makes stock core bearings zing.  I'm about to go use mine in about an hour.

Here's my first work with the Curado i 201HG

Nice 19.0" bass on a SK 2.5 pro model squarebill. I caught 8 bass total on it, and the reel worked great! I did have a backlash on the first cast ... Lol. That was due to overs pooling it. Pulled off 10 yards and all was good. I gave the 14lb BPS XPS FC (KVD SIG) .. I won't be buying this line again. It's not very resistant to abrasion. Though , I was chugging the squarebill over yards of chunk rock and rip rap.  It may sound weird but has anyone used braid as a leader in this situation? I found myself re-tying every 30 mins or so . Just thought maybe braid would help as the abrasion only occurred the first 2-4" up the line.  I'm not against going 100 percent braid.

LgMouthGambler

Braid is not very resistant to rocks. Try a leader of thicker mono or fluoro.

I've been fishing this stretch of rock for years and braid has always held up very well for me. : )
I'm going to go back to red label and see if that helps. I heard that Seaguar is the company making the XPS line... but the Red Label has been great for me.

Dark3

For me I always end up with big abrasions way up the line maybe almost a rod length more so than near the crank itself. Those 2.5s are slayers

How did you set your brakes?

2 On dial at 2. Typical slow fall spool tension

Dark3

I have to take a look at my spool tension. All identical set ups but one gets almost no tension locked down. They are knobs from e series anodized.

Where did you find that 201hg? Been looking for one for awhile, want to put it on top of a dc736.

Can the inside pressure disk be concave? Maybe dimpled?  I have seen that happen.

It was ordered almost 2 months ago from The Tackle Trap. Brian and Gary are good people, give them a try . The LH Curado is a rare animal. Lol. My 6.4.1  should be in this week. : )

I know hedgehog is selling different tension knobs for the new shimano reels. Might be something to look at

It may be. Since they are from e series and on an i series i might need to modify tbe disk set up. I havent had a chance to look at it yet

H8R

My point is maybe the E knobs don't work properly for this reel, and that's why hedgehog created a different cap for the newer shimanos, as they're different from the E series. Just an idea, I'm not saying that's it
