I bought 2002 Bullet XF with 2005 merc 225 EFI.

The best I got out of it is 79MPH. The centerline of foot is 2" below the bottom

of the boat. I tried sportmaster lower unit it went 78MPH. water pressure is 28psi.

Boat is very difficult to drive right now. Any suggestions?

A couple of things. You are probably way to low. Most bullets run about 1.5 to 2 inches above pad. Your water pressure is really good so you have a lot of room to play there.

Getting more lift in the boat will get you some more speed and could get you up and more stable on the last step of the boat and make it easier to drive.

I'd slowly start raising the motor, keep going until your water pressure gets to low. Take your time, learning to drive a bullet is not like a ranger, champion, or other wide beamed platform boat.
