For the first time in almost 15 years, I decided to paint some baits. I have a few older Rouges that have battered finishes. I took off the hooks, hangers and eyes and set about sanding the lures. I will paint them with a custom color I call Purple Fade. The lure is first sprayed completely with Chartreuse lightened slightly with white. After drying, the back of the lure is very lightly sprayed with Purple. The spray is so light that the chartreuse glows through the purple. Red gill lines are hand painted and a couple of pin sized red dots are placed around black painted lips. Finally, I will lightly spray chip resistant clear to protect the lure. It is not Table Rock Shad. Somewhat similar but the lure has a glow when fished in overcast. I am having fun painting the baits. I doubt the bass will notice my painting isn't as good as when I was younger,

Sounds neat- must post pics when finished. I've never painted any baits myself.
