Ask a Classic Pro Media Day
« on: March 21, 2017, 02:29:05 PM »

Alright UB nation this is your chance. Laurie, Ron, Chip Harm and myself will be speaking with the Classic Pros on Thursday. We only have a couple hours but will speak with as many as we can. We'll also have a chance to take with those that don't make the cut as they will be in the expo on the last day.

Here is a list of the 20 that we have been given time slots to speak with on Media day... What I want from UB Nation is questions to ask and we'll report back :-* Maybe even on video.

So Laurie has

Boyd Duckett
Edwin Evers
John Garrett
Shaw Grigsby
Greg Hackney
Alton Jones JR
Timothy Klinger
Ryan Lavigne
Gerald Swindle
Chris Zaldain

I have
Casey Ashley
Keith Combs
Randy Howell
Mike Iaconelli
Alton Jones SR
Justin Lucas
Aaron Martens
Jacob Powroznik
Randal Tharp
KVD

I'm not sure who Ron has at the moment.

Post your questions here and Thursday Morning before we head to media day I will gather them and ask what we can. Keep in mind, we may not get to see all of them, or they may elect not to answer a question that is to revealing to the Classic. So general questions have a better shot at getting a good answer.

Alright UB Nation lets let them know we are watching  :-*

Question for Ike: Who would win an arm wrestling match between you  and Zona?

2nd question for Ike: Mike, I watched you power fish a bladed jig to take the MLS trophy. What speed reel and rod action did you use and why?

Question for Hackney: You always have a goofy light heartedness when I see you fishing even when it's intense. Makes watch the sport fun. Where does the inspiration for that attitude come from?

Questions for any pro:

1) What is your favorite bait from a non sponsor?

2) As anglers, we learn about new baits or techniques from forums, magazines, TV shows and videos. As a pro, how do you learn about a new bait or technique?

3) Who is the most under rated pro on tour?

4) What is your favorite old school bait or color?

5) Other than yourself, who are you pulling for in this year's Classic?

Excellent questions FlatsNBay,

1)  Ask Swindle how's his health and how's his leg healing?

2)  Ask KVD if we can expect to see the twins fish professionally?

Question of Alton Jones Sr.

Obviously you have mastered plenty of presentation styles.  What is your most favorite way to fish for bass as you travel around the country.

Questions for Edwin Evers.

What to you attribute your consistent top finishes to?

Do any tournaments add extra pressure on you?

How hard is it to balance Home life and fishing?

1. What are the Average Expenses to be able to fish the Tour for a year?

2. When fishing a New Lake or Body of Water to you, what is the first thing you look for to help you
decide where and how to fish?

3. What is the One Thing that if you forgot you would turn around and go back home for, no matter        what the distance?

4. What is your favorite way to Fish for Fun?

5. Sort of Ties into #4: If you didn't fish for Bass, what kind of Fish would you fish for most often?

6. How long (until what age) do you see yourself fishing as a Pro?

Eternal Optimism. It's what drives me to fish. Next cast is THE cast that will provide the reason why I am here. Big Bass, Small Bass, No Bass-- Everyday and Every Time out learn something. What worked and what didn't and why. In the end go enough days and then, Today is the day that it will all come together and the Fish Gods will smile.
