From DE to KY, getting back to fishing.
« on: May 19, 2017, 10:33:43 AM »

My name is Jake. I'm 20 and married. I live in Ky, but I'm originally from Delaware. I grew up fishing in a Crawdad 2 seater boat, fishing around Newark/Christiana area. Along with floats down the Shanadoah River in Virginia.
Currently, I'm getting back into fishing as a relatively cheap hobby, but also as a stress reliever and for relaxation. I only have one pole, which is a medium with a Zebco reel, one from Wal-Mart. I plan on learning how to use a bait caster and buy a medium heavy, fast action rod to be set up for jig fishing.
Bigest thing I'm learning now is how to fish a flippin' jig.
Hopefully soon I'll be able to fish Cedar Creek and Green River here soon.
And I will be getting a kayak hopefully in the next couple months, as i really enjoy them and love river fishing.
I can't wait to get to know the people here and to get back out fishing!

First fish was from an expedition behind my work. At my job, the Green River runs right behind it. So i three on my flip flops and vrabbed my dog and we went walking down the creek to get to the river. The first one was caught right in some fallen tree cover. 2nd cast on a $1 black spinner bait from Wal-Mart.
2nd fish was off the same spinner bait in my parents pond. The pond also has a 5lbs bass in it. Haven't caught him in a couple years. Only thing we have caught him on was a live small bluegill on a bobber. Then a red/white willow/colorado spinner blade. But of someone or something hasn't got him yet, then Im going to get him this year.
