Good morning to everyone,

Bright sunny skies 88dgrs presently here in Central Texas  ~sun  Another tough day on the lake.  We managed to hook up with (1) largemouth fishing the area vic Cedar Gap launch site on Stillhouse Lake.  I set the hook and he wrapped me around a stick-up splashing water everywhere.  The boys were going crazy telling me to hang on etc.  By the time I got over there he had done pulled off.  That was the only bite we had in 4hrs of fishing.  We seen lots of suspended fish but they weren't in any mood to bite that crankbait either.  We're going to give the ole try below the dam after I get off work this afternoon.  We're going to drown some minnows and night crawlers from the bank.
After getting the Stratos parked and cleaned out I plugged the charger in and called it a day.  Before hitting the sack I went to check on the charging and found out the on-board charger has bit the bullet.  I checked the extension cord, the wall plug and the breaker box.  Everything was in working order I guess I'll be buying a new 3 bank on board charger this week.  I really can't complain I bought that charger back in 2011 and to say the least I've gotten my $$$ worth out of it.

Bud; Have a great trip up to Maryland.  Enjoy the drive and watch out for those other individuals.

SHC; Wow tks for sharing the video with us that was pretty cool idea they had.  That barge with the sofas etc now that looked relaxing.  Add a little shade to the top and its complete.  When I first saw the picture I thought it was down at the River Walk in San Antonio Texas.

Rodney; Tks for the update on the shoulder that's great news about the sling etc.  Yep fishing in this darn heat isn't my idea way of fishing.  But the boys only have a limit amount of time there so its fishing when we can.  Glad to hear you made it to the gym for your workout.

Lip; Hope you're having better luck than me at catching those fish.  We're going to drown some minnows and night crawlers this afternoon.   We're going for some crappie and catfish this afternoon down below the spillway.

To everyone have a peace fully and relaxing afternoon and evening.

The pack up has been completed all that is left in the morning is to load and go.  Got the gas all topped off and ready to hit the road.  One stop first thing tomorrow is at Dunkin Donuts for a couple coffee rolls that has become a hit the road tradition.  Really looking forward to some cooler weather.

Double checked the security system here at the house and all devices are working as designed.  Turned off the outside motion sensors don't need them going off if a deer happens to stop by that seems to happen quite a bit lately.  When the system alarms it sounds like a prison break and I don't think my neighbors would appreciate this thing screaming at them for a couple days.  LOL

Oldfart9999

Hey everybody! Won't be doing much more than lurking for a few days, got a dose of bronchitis, caught it early so won't be down long.
Have a good few days, see you on the flipside!

I wanna go fishing 😭
But I've committed myself to helping someone move. I didn't realize it was going to take so much! I've moved more than a few times myself and it's rarely taken more than a couple days to pack and one day for the actual move. We've been at it since Friday afternoon!
Fished a little either Thursday or Friday evening, then Saturday morning and Sunday afternoon. I was helping them move from about noon on Saturday until around midnight, early morning Sunday until around noon, Monday and yesterday from after work until around midnight, and getting back at it in a couple of hours!

Next time someone asks me if I have a truck and trailer, I'm just going to say "no" and leave it at that, instead of stupidly mentioning "But I know someone who'll loan me one."

Too tired to kick myself, someone come do it for me.

SteelHorseCowboy

Since I had the truck and trailer on hand, I did go ahead and haul a load to the dump, so there's a plus.

Greetings to everyone,

Another Blue Bird Sky Day here in Central Texas with the temps hovering around 95 (+) dgrs  ~sweat ~sweat ~sun ~sun  Sure am glad I have an inside job that keeps me out of the heat  :)  We're back at it strip the floor and apply the wax.  If things go as planned we'll be done waxing the remaining 19 classroom by end of shift tomorrow.  We'll let the floors dry good over Friday and the weekend.  Monday morning we'll start cleaning the furniture and set the classrooms back up.  All that's left then (Inside work) will be stripping and waxing the hallway.  We'll then move the operation outdoors and power wash the exterior windows and door frame areas.

SHC; Been there and done that a few times myself.  For me though the mission only lasted a couple days  ~shade  Maybe down the road when you need the favor returned they'll come and assist you  ;)
I've learned to be careful answering questions on do you have this and that also.  I have on a couple occasions loaned both my truck and trailer out to those that needed it.

Rodney; You got a sign hanging around your neck that says "Come Mess With Me" ? :surrender:  You finally get some great news about the shoulder and now your down and out with bronchitis   ~xyz  Hope you get to feeling better soon.

Lip; You and John Slaying those fish down at Lake Shelbyville  ~bb  ~cf  ~fff ~fff ~cf  You have a great trip and post a picture or two when you get the chance.

Bud; Hope you're having a pleasant trip up to Maryland.  Holler when you get the chance.

To everyone have a very pleasant evening and a better day tomorrow.

Donald Garner

Greetings to everyone,

Mostly Clear Skies and 97 dgrs presently  ~sun ~sweat  Busy day at work as we put the finishing coats of wax down in the classrooms.  Tomorrow I'm heading backup to Kentucky to take the nephews back home.  This past (2) weeks sure has flown by with them here.

SHC; Looks like you're making out ok with all that stuff.  You can keep what you need there and maybe sell the rest  ~shade

Rodney; Hope your day was better than yesterday.  You making any head way with getting over that bronchitis?  Sure hope so I know its gotta sux.

Lip; Where's the fishing pictures at buddy?  You must be plumb worn out from all that catching  ~shade

Greetings to everyone,

Partly Sunny and 92dgrs presently here in Central Texas  ~sun ~sweat  Our trip to Kentucky was successful.  The boy's mom met us in Bowling Green, KY Saturday morning.  My sister drove in from Missouri and we all linked up at IHOP for breakfast and a get together.  It was great seeing her again.  It was great having the boys here the past couple weeks.  It sure is quiet around here now  ~shade

Bud; Glad to hear you're enjoying the time with the family up in Maryland.  Be safe in your travels back South.

Rodney; Tks for the health update  ;)  That sure sounds like a Real Tasty Meal there buddy  :food ;PEP)

Lip; So how many fish have youns put the fillet knife to?  Hope your trip is going well for you also.

SHC; You got that trailer downloaded with your newly acquired appliances ?

To everyone have a pleasant evening and great day tomorrow.  Tight lines if you're heading out on the water.

Today is our last day here in the mountains.  The cool weather has been wonderful. Heading back to SC in the morning.  Gonna be a long drive is about eleven hours or so.

Donald Garner

Good evening to everyone,
Partly cloudy with some light rain and thunder moving through the Central Texas area.  For the most part it was pretty sunny with the temps in the mid 90's.  Well all the heavy cleaning and moving is over with.  Tomorrow morning we strip the 1st floor hallway.   After a good rising we'll put down at least a couple coats of wax.  Wednesday morning the final coat of wax will get laid.  There's still some light cleaning to be done and we got plenty of time to knock that all out.

Bud; Glad to hear you've enjoyed the time up in Maryland visiting the family.  Be safe traveling back home.  We had a good trip up and back from Kentucky long drives both trips.  I'm glad to be home resting.

Rodney; Read your other posting about your physical therapy.  Nothing wrong with a little flipping and pitching to get the shoulder back in shape.

Lip; You still catching all those crappie down there at Lake Shelbyville?

To everyone have a very pleasant evening.

Had a few hours to kill today.Got on them pretty good with the Spro rat 30 and pitching a 4" Pitboss in the pads. The Spro rat has been a go to lure for me this summer as well as the Pitboss and the SK Rage bug. If you haven't thrown the Spro, I would give it a shot.

Don, got the appliances in the house already! The fridge is nice, much nicer, quieter, and works better than the 30-40 year old food safe I had. Kitchen floor wobbles less too! This new one is bigger, but lighter. The washer and dryer worked when removed from the old place, I know this because the friends I was helping were doing as much laundry as possible right before moving. But I need to install hookups for them. I been just going to the MIL's house for laundry about once a week. Gives us all some quality time to visit and time for younger and stronger backs to knock out some work around her place.

Hit the gravel pit this morning. It's about 75°, water's nice and cool. I know there's some lunkers in that hole, but I ain't got one yet. Best I've done is about 2 pounds.
This morning I had a mean little bait fish giving my 4" senko hell about two feet off the bank right in front of me. Looked like a bitty blue gill, about 2-3" long. I swapped to a little grub, hoping to catch it and use it for bait. But apparently it had an appetite, didn't want no little snack it could actually swallow, it wanted a feast!
Switched to a keel weighted white swim bait, and suddenly I could see some nice sized bass taking an interest, but no bites.
Been having some frustrating fishing lately.

My patched up pirogue officially bit the dust yesterday evening. Went to Finch's lake, made it about 75 yards or so off the bank, and it collapsed. Just folded in half right in the center. I heard the first screw rip out of the big center brace. "ruh-row..."
Daughter hollered from the bank, "Dad, what was that?"
"well darlin, that was bad."
Started to turn around, and the rest ripped out. Boat folded. Luckily, knowing the pirogue was in rough shape, I'd ziploc'ed my phone and wallet. I managed to grab my poles and box, jammed my hand cannon down tight in it's holster right as I went under, then side stroked to shore. That 3 pound shootin iron got heavier with every stroke, but I'm a strong swimmer.
Waited a bit for a boat to come through, flagged them down and asked for some help. Got a ride out to it, collected my seat and paddle, then towed the wreckage in. Wrote on the side, "Free, needs work" with a sharpie and left it there on the bank. Figure I'll go back in a week or so and if it's still there I'll cut it up and haul it off.

Oldfart9999

Good morning, late but still morning. lo Not a great start to this day, at the gym on the stairmaster about 5-6 minutes in and the knee started it's nonsense, 15 minutes later I was home in a not very pleasant mood. ~xyz ~xyz Rubbed both knees with Aspercreme and about 9:10 was back on the stairmaster, got er done! We do what we have to! lo
Bud, sorry you have to head back to reality, hopefully you'll be able to get some fishing in though!
Donald, good that you have plenty of time to finish, takes the pressure off and lets you finish without killing yourself. I'm beginning to wonder about Lip, he's usually not absent like this, I hope he's too busy cleaning fish to get on line!!
Mass, a couple of good hours just makes it all right with the world!!
SHC, that was a funny story, sorry but I was chuckling while I was reading it, fortunately you didn't lose anything!! Nice deal on the appliances, now you'll be self contained!!
Have a great day!!
Rodney
