Ranger Z20
« on: July 04, 2017, 04:24:21 PM »

My son in law just bought a 2007 Ranger z20, Comanche from a dealer and didn't try it on the water before buying it. The prop that was on it was mangled so the dealer replaced it with a Raker 14 1/2 X 26
prop on the Evinrude 225 HO, we don't know what the original prop was and he is having a hard time getting it to plane. It acts like it is overproped, but I am not familiar with bass boats, as I only saltwater fish. The boat runs fine once it is on plane, but just takes a long time to get on plane. If anyone can help us out with this I would appreciate it.

Sounds like about the right prop. Does  the boat have a jack plate?

I don't know anything about motors or boats but lots of folks around here do just give them a little time to stop by and see this. When you have time would you stop by here and introduce yourself to everyone.
