Smash and Dash started again on Area Lakes
« on: July 17, 2017, 07:35:52 AM »

Just read reports that the Crack Heads have started doing the Smash and Dash at area boat ramps again. Reported at Jordan this past week at Poes.  We had it happen here on Norman about two or three weeks ago.  They did check the Low Life but most likely out of bail and back at it. Use caution.  If local catch him down here again it won't be too good lo Really feel that it's the same crew hitting different lakes and ramps. Go get em boy's ~b~

What ever happened to the good ol' days when folks like us took care of these problems ourselves?

I've wondered how this doesn't happen more. Thieves look for easy targets. Trucks parked at a boat ramp are beautiful targets. Unattended, owners are out on the lake. Returning to the ramp or cruising by periodically to take a peek is likely far from mind.
Fishermen are outdoorsmen in general. How many anglers have guns in their trucks? Outdoorsmen also seem to tend to be blue collar Joes, so how bout tools in the truck.

No, I'm not a thief or criminal. Experience and training have taught me to think like one to avoid them. Such small things as when preparing for a range or hunting trip, moving my gear to the car overnight to reduce the chance of people seeing me. Don't leave boxes outside after Christmas to advertise what's INSIDE (break them down and drive them to the dump yourself), that sort of thing.

Sad but the law enforcement never seems to be around there is just not enough of them to do the job, except when I'm running a little fast lo . They did catch the piece of trash that hit Norman but none of his crew. I am assuming he's out on bail and back at it again.  They will be caught up with by the right crowd of Bubba's and that will be the end of that ~c~ ~c~  So guy's keep you eyes out and beware, the crooks are out after your and my stuff so be ready for quick action and very swift. >:(  Make sure you have suspect duct taped up good so he will be there when the LEO get there to pick up what left after you called from a pay phone on the way home lo  No cell phones please PoPo

I do know local tournament providers on the Norman Night Tournaments walk  the lots for any thing that does not seem right. Some of Iredell LEO's are starting to cruise thru more the nights I have been down for the tournament.

If we start to answer that question truthfully this thread will land in GS faster than anyone can blink.  ~shade

I'm actually quite fond of the idea though.
