two piece rod
« on: July 31, 2017, 05:53:55 PM »

I need recommendations for a 2 piece travel rod. I am making a road trip in August and can't pack my 1 piece rods so I need a 2 piece.

I am looking for something that I can pick up at BPS since I have about $75 in gift cards there.
I will also have limited tackle with me so probably something that will generally handle plastics, jigs, spinnerbaits, and maybe some lipless or squarebill crankbaits. It would be great if I could throw some hollow body frogs on it as well.
I have plenty of reels that I can pack and interchange on the rod so that shouldn't be an issue.

What do you all think on powers, brands etc?

Bass Pro has the Pro Qualifier 2 piece MHF for 100 bucks. It will handle all those weights.

Bionic Blade, they would fill the bill for you and are only 5$ over you 75$ cards. I have 2 of the Pro Qualifiers, they feel like thew original CARBONLITE rods which I really like, for the money they are good.

Old Fishermen never die, their rods just go limp.
