Abu Garcia Revo SX Gen 2
« on: August 08, 2017, 10:07:12 PM »

I picked up this Revo SX from another site for a really good price. Figured since I really liked the one I used to have, why not. Got it today in the mail, and I didnt waste any time getting to work on it.

Whoever serviced this reel before did a terrible job, but I got it all cleaned up and everything back where it belongs.

Spooled it up with some Red Cajun mono just to please Rock with matching the line to the rod and reel. Lol.

Gonna try it out tomorrow on lunch and see how it does.

O it's him for sure Jim. I think he got a bad batch of bourbon.

I have some red PP that might give your abu a little bit of its man card

That Revo has the same free floating spool system as his mystical Daiwa's only difference is the name on the side  ~roflmao

Just a cheap shot from the peanut gallery  ~roflmao

It's a quality high bearing count reel  ~c~ I just don't care for the thumbar/clutch system, but that's me.

Price was right, and its one of the best from Abu. Honestly, if I would have got anything better I wouldnt have wanted to use it the way that I am going to. As far as the Red Cajun, its really tough line, and I have 2 1000yd spools of it, so I might as well use it.  lo

Been testing that Kastking mono and really like it. So far I like it more than Senshi.  :o

By the time I see LMG I'll have a final decision wanting to sell it to him or not lol.

Mono holds well when stored properly. Your mind will probably change again soon as well.. ;) so I would just stay with it.

Caught me a nice peacock on lunch today with the truck combo. Got to say, its just right enough that I like to fish it, and not worry about if it gets dirty or scratched. Lol.

Was tossing the spook jr quite the distance after a good tune.
