Mr. Twister Buzz Bug
« on: September 12, 2017, 09:05:52 PM »

I am needing to restock my Swimsations but am also interested in the Buzz Bug.  The question I have about the Buzz Bug is what are your recommendations for rigging.  I need info on recommended hook size and if you are rigging it just on a hook T Rigged or are you using it to tip a jig.  Just kind of curious about what you think works best for this bait.

recommended hook size
3/0 or 4/0 Wide Gap or a flipping hook. I prefer the 4/0 flipping style hook.

I used them T Rigged with a 1/4 oz bullet weight.

Also if I had them I would use as a trailer on 3/8 and 1/2 oz jigs maybe even heavier jigs. I would just trim the length of the body to get the appearance the way I want with the length of the skirt on the jig.

The Buzz Bug is extremely versatile. I fish it texas rigged with and without a weight. I use it as a punch bait, and as a jig trailer. You can get a 5/0 straight shank hook in it but 3-4/0 is best.
