Gary will the new high ends be at the Classic
« on: October 07, 2017, 01:53:53 PM »

As seen in the newsletter
From Gary...

Well it's October and 2017 is flying past us. Lots of things going on with us at Dobyns Rods. We launched the Colt Series several weeks ago and it's doing very well. I'll be launching an Ultra High-End Series around Feb. 2018. I've worked on this rod for years and now with new materials available, I can make it the way I've always wanted to.

Guys I'm still testing to make perfect. The rods are awesome I'm simply adjusting powers. I like to catch 30-40 fish on each model. I'm thinking I'm about 1/2 power off (too powerful) right now. I'm cutting no corners here. Best material available from Toray, best guides available from Fuji, best cork (stupid crazy cost here and I'll have to see final pricing). Super light, super sensitive, and fast actions. The models are all  "feel" models like jig rods, finesse rods, and so forth. I'm excited as heck as I test these. It's been a long time coming and I wouldn't of spouted off about them if I didn't feel good about the rods. I don't have final pricing but it will suck for sure :)  Damn Torizite guides are costly and I like a lot of guides to keep line off the blanks. I'll post as i know more. THX guys!!!!

I've been fortunate enough to play with other proto types of Gary's super high end rods that didn't make the cut for various reasons. To me they were simply amazing. Can't imaging how incredible this one's going to be  :-*

Just to let Gary know, I would be MORE THAN HAPPY to help "test" any new rods he has coming out. Don't want him to get worn out testing so I am willing to be the test dummy. LOL

Sure like to see a powerful 7' 6" spinning rod in that new high end lineup, similar in power to the old Champion 765SF but in lighter more sensitive form. Currently Dobyns does not have a power house spinning rod in the 7' 6" range. Closest is the HP Extreme DX764SF's I currently have, great but not close to enough power. I also have the 735 power casting rod but I really prefer spinning if I can get it. I am guessing probably not enough call for a spinning rod with that kind of power by enough people?

I hope your happy with yourself Gary! Do you even realize what this is going to do to my checking account??  Stop it....just stop it!! lo ;D hahah

I just saw or read a review on the new Hyper something something Lews new flag ship reel. I wondered then, knowing I will have to have at least 2 or 3 of them, what rods I would put these on....

Guess that problem has been resolved! ~roflmao
