Horseshoe on Sunday
« on: November 20, 2017, 04:09:08 PM »

Went out to Horseshoe around two, overcast about seventy degrees. Started fishing from shore and saw them start blowing up on bait right in front of me. Couldn't reach them. They taunted me the whole time I was there. Saw them coming out of the water, all two to four pounds. Managed a dink on the fluke.

Matthew did much better than I, tied on a zoom vibe worm for him mojo rigged, let him cast and retrieve. Caught this one all by himself.

I'm so proud, he's learning quickly, started varying the retrieve speed on his own.

Cute kid, Chris. Who's the daddy? J/K

When you need to throw a fluke a long ways, use a spinning reel. I know, I got you to switch at Kissimmee.

Thats awesome Chris! Looks like at least you guys had a good time.
I hate when the fish mess with me like that. They are just out of range and they are blowing up on everything but your bait. lol

Indeed. I sent Mrs cport a link for a nice inflatable, Christmas present hint for the lake. No gas motors allowed, and I need something that fits in my Kia Soul.

Try bombing a Rattletrap way out there when they are out of reach with anything else. Works.

Thanks  Fred, I wish I would have thought about that. Tressbasser suggested something similar, throwing a spook or skitter.
