The Verdict Is In
« on: December 07, 2017, 06:11:40 AM »

As some of you might remember I posted about a month ago asking for prayers because I had to have a biopsy done on my prostate. The procedure got postponed the first time but I had it done two weeks ago.

I got the results yesterday afternoon and they came back positive for cancer. Now the good news is that out of the 12 sections of the prostate that they biopsied only one section came back positive with only a small area of that section showing any signs. Doc says I don't have to get my affairs in order and there are plenty of treatment options. He said we could leave it alone and just watch it but I said no to that.

I will have to wait 2 weeks for the prostate to heal fully from the biopsy and then I will go in for an MRI to check the surrounding area and a treatment plan can be decided on once that comes back.

I want to thank everyone for their prayers and positive thoughts so far. And to those of you who have been through this yourselves and reached out to me I will be sending you some PMs and asking some questions.

Unless the good LORD says otherwise you guys ain't getting rid of me that easy.  :)

Good news! You're one of many with that problem. My Dr. said if a man lived long enough, he would die of prostate cancer. It's not a matter of will I get it. It's a matter of when I get it.

That's great news Smallie. I haven't had prostate cancer but as you know I'm fighting a battle with cancer and glad you caught it early like I did and it's been 2 years since my last treatment and so for by the grace of God it hasn't come back. I will keep you on my daily prayer list Jim.

That's much better news than I got about 10 years ago.  Did they say what stage the cancer was at?  Now just hope they don't find more in other areas.  Think carefully and get all options and the side effects of each option before you make a treatment decision.  With my family history my choice was quick and simple to make.
If you need to talk to someone that's been through it don't hesitate to call me or PM me.
Wishing you the best.

Smallie I am acttually excited for you, knowing you caught it early and that you have several treatment plans is awesome, not the best possible news but your ability to stay positive as you are will help knock this out.
