Tough bite!
« on: December 13, 2017, 10:29:21 PM »

I have been trying all of my old and some new spots and its been rough. I know its cold and the fish have slowed down so I can't expect numbers.

Anyone finding the fish out there? If so, WHERE!

I'm a few hours west of you but I'm still catching fish. The lake I fish I have found them to be most active during the afternoon when the water is generally at its warmest and most are tight to cover. Under mats, tight to the cattails, or any remaining lily pad clumps.

I'm not a deep cranking person so I haven't tried any of those techniques they may be working as well but so far I'm having plenty of success not to have to hunt unfamiliar territory for me just yet.

I'm petty much using the same baits I have in my last report from the 6th.

I went out to Caddo with a buddy a couple weeks ago and only caught one. Nice 2.5 lber on a wacky rigged senko. Definitiley took multiple casts and a very slooooow presentation.

I'm gonna head out to base tomorrow and see what I can get with some tubes and jigs. I wish I could've fished these warmer days this week but I had to work..  :'(

Haven't been out on yak lately, but bank fishing from ponds has been very hard, I've caught some chain pickerel but no bass, spoke to few other bank anglers and they are getting skunked as well.

Yeah I haven't been able to get out. Work picked up and about the time I was going to get to go I got sick.
Well I'm calling it sick. I think every time I doze off some thugs come in and beat me with ball bats then crank the AC or Heat up or down all the way. I actually ate 15 spoons of chicken noodle soup today so I feel like a million bucks. NOT.

We just got some nice rain today and a cold front too so I'm sure my  next trip may be different. I just don't know when that will be.

I went out on base today in the yak around 1300 and caught a few in the few hours I was there. Bites were very subtle.

Biggest was about 2 lbs. I was using a stupid rigged tube and they were inhaling it.
