Question about capacity plate
« on: February 03, 2018, 10:27:14 AM »

Hi everyone.
I recently purchased a 1997 ragin cajun 171..
I see many places online which state the max hp at 150.
My spec plate states 130 hp with single cable..
My boat has a dual steering cable and and a 150 hp evinrude. I was wondering if anyone knew if this boat has to specs according to single or dual steering cable.

Respect the Capacity Plate.  This plate is designed for the capacity of the hull and the steering has nothing to do with it.

I agree with Bud.  The manufactures put these plates on the boats for a reason.

Enjoying retirement in the great Pacific Northwest.  I've turned into a fair weather angler.  Why do it today when I can do it tomorrow?
