Broke down one of my Curado D's yesterday for cleaning. The star drag clicker was damaged somewhat. It crushed or flattened in the middle section. It has to be getting crushed on the shoulder of the drive shaft. Am I tightening down the handle nut too tight when reassembling causing this? Thanks

No. It happens. Its only plastic. Dont worry about it.

My wife says she is gonna leave me if I go fishing one more time........lord how I will miss that woman.

that washer sits on top of the star drag which has a spring under it. So tightening the handle nut too much really can't hurt it. Heat is a big issue with this plastic washer, I've seen more damage in southern anglers reels than northern. Not saying it doesn't get hot up north, just that it's hot longer down south.
