Valentines Day
« on: February 13, 2018, 06:15:27 PM »

For those of you who may have forgotten, Tomorrow is Valentines Day.  Either you go get something now or get ready to do some "Splainin" tomorrow.  After all my years with she who shall be obeyed, this is one day you don't want to forget or you will be sorry.  You can always claim you had plans all along to take her to her favorite restaurant but you better make reservations so you are not a total dufus.   ;D

Bud, I haven't forgotten.  I'm getting the flowers tomorrow right after I get off work ;)  She doesn't eat candy etc so I don't have to worry about that piece  ~shade

We don't celebrate on the actual day. Roses and chocolates get soooo much cheaper within a couple of days after.  :-*

We'll probably do something on the weekend.

Every year my wife gets flowers delivered to her work. Its to make her brag about how much she is really loved. It will NEVER change.

We're open special in our restaurant tomorrow night... Brisket, twice-baked potatoes, salad, vegetable and a dessert for two, drinks included, all for thirty bucks for two (UB members cheaper yet!)... Worked awhile ago on the lights- gonna dim 'em a bunch, with candles at the tables, all that romantical kind of stuff.

Then we'll probably go home and eat Spaghetti-O's.

Good post considering some people will forget and nobody wants to do that lol. However, we decided after last year driving around after work looking for parking spots for 2 hours at local restaurants and eventually waited til about 9pm to eat dinner we decided the 15th from now on will be our valentines day. She was completely on board and even said chocolate Is on sale that day too lol.

For the first Valentine's day since about 1960-something, I will not be "working" at my job as an entertainer.  Recent health issues are still limiting me a little, so I've cut back to weekends for now.
I plan to make good use of the night off!  :)

Been married for 15yrs now. I have 364 other days to tell her I love her. As for my son, I had to take him shopping for his mom n grandmother.

I got her orchids though.

We don't give roses because they are close to $$50/ doz in St. Louis. Just a stupid price. I gave my Italian wife homemade Ravioli made the old country way. I ground the meats, made the sauce and made the pasta myself. It takes hours to make and roll out the pasta, layer the filling and cut and seal the pasta. I made 400 ravioli and will freeze 325 of them for later use. We used to make ravioli together but found that could led to divorce. A nice card, a homemade meal and a bottle of wine. All makes for a happy woman.

So I fell victim to the trap this year boys.  Wife said not to get her anything.... so I just did card and I'm cooking dinner.  Even threw in an itunes GC for good measure.

..... and apparently I missed the random mention of some caramel covered apple the other night and it was a big deal.

~roflmao ~roflmao ~roflmao  The kissing and hugging I don't care so much about but I'm using my cancer diagnosis and the probable side effects of treatment to try for as much of the icky stuff as I can get between now and then.  lo

We were gonna take the traditional drive to Ferros Italian restaurant, but the traffic and environment is a little too hectic where Im at because of the school shooting down the road. Sad day in this area today.
