With my current trailer winch being really crap and the retaining spring missing, I decided to treat myself to a nice new winch.

Looking forward to being able to launch and load the boat with a LOT more ease.

Installed photos to follow later.

Sharp looking winch BK! ~c~
I've been looking at the Drotto Boat Latch. My winch is pretty ugly and I'll still replace it too but, since I fish solo so much the latch will make loading and unloading much easier.

Winch is priceless when loading without power but, unless there's a problem I never use more than a foot or so of winch strap.

I had never heard of the Drotto boat latch before, so had a look on YouTube. Cool looking idea.

Depending on the weather, I may be fishing on Christmas Eve, so I just had to get the new winch installed.

First, here's the old crappy winch. You can see the retaining spring was gone, so I had to tie the locking devise with a piece of double sided velcro.

And here's the F2   ;D
