Well it all came.in!
« on: March 08, 2018, 09:26:09 PM »

My Dobyns FR735C arrived earlier this week and my Daiwa Tatula arrived today... feels kinda intimidating in my hands..... but im sure ready to sling some frogs!!!

Will either spool Power Pro 30lb or 50lb with mono backing. Not sure which I wanna go with yet.

You are ready for the heavy stuff! Now load some 50lb. braid on there and get fishing.
They look good together.

Suppose to be 90% chance of rain all day tomorrow. Hoping to sneak in daylight for that topwater action before the bottom drops. No rain for Sunday but might not be good if it pours all day saturday. We Shall see.

Question for all you Daiwa Gurus.

For those who bought the Tatula 100HS... did it come with anything? Or did it just come with the paperwork showings parts n stuff.

Well topwater bite wasnt happenin...not really much was happenin.

2 hours of fishin n only 2 bites... but flippin a PBnJ football head (nutech maybe) w/havoc pit boss junebug trailer and caught a lil dink but he hit it like a monster tho!!!

Overall I am really liking this rod/reel setup. 10lb mono backin with Power Pro 50lb. Casts smooth and effortlessly once set. And the feel. OMG the feel on everything in the water. You feel EVERYTHING!!!

This is not be my last Dobyns or Daiwa Purchase!!!

Nice looking picture and glad your new rig worked out for you and love the looks of that jig. I can't wait to get out next week maybe and try out my LSCR that I've had for about two year but couldn't use it for health reasons. If we ge3t up in the 50's and no  ~rain next week I'm going to give it a work out along with some new LT HB Frogs.

Wish I had more than 2 hours to spend out there but the wife had me on a leash lol. Also it has yet to rain today!!!

I wasnt going to trailer the Jig but since the bass in this particular pond loves Junebug colors. Figured why not. Also I beleive that is the first bass Ive ever caught on a jig! And he hammered it hard. I didnt baredown on the hookset like I normally would with a Medium Heavy and it was clear I didnt need to. I lile that fast action.

I had another bite on a pb n jellyfish custom creature bait was left too much slack on the hookset.

I had some backlashes from casting like a dummy. Think I may have toooo much line spooled but it does just fine when I dont try to cast like a monkey.

I'm going to have to get me some of that color and try it out. That's one of the colors I don't have in my GY Senkos.

Nice set up, think I have something similar ... and I hear ya' on the "not the only Dobyns or Daiwa".  I now have about 8 Dobyns and 3 or 4 Daiwas.

Ha, definitely.  I think I'm matched up at 8 & 8 now with Dobyns rods/Daiwa Reels.  Great combos

I wanted to share two videos on the Tatula family of reels. One shows how the brake system works and the other Brett Ehler shows hot to set one up for max distance. They adjust very different than any other reel out there.  It is due to the Magforce Z braking system which works very much like a governor on a lawn mower. Currently I fish with 8 Daiwas, some original sized Tatulas,Tatula Type Rs, and some Tat CTs. I just want you to get all you can out of the reels.

I doubt it.  I fill all my spools to the bevel.  Now if you went above that, then...ya...you probably have too much.  I don't know how a monkey casts, but today I tried to power an F-11 Rapala (Balsa wood and 3/16 oz.) and wound up having to pull line off to the arbor....probably 230 yards or more considering it is 6# mono.    :'(  Fun time......................not.

EDIT:  That is a nice picture.  Nice combo too.  A Fury is on my wish list.

Awesome looking combo! I'm a huge Tatula fan, and hope to buy my first Dobyn's soon. Tatula's will last you forever if you take care of them. For your next one (which I'm sure you'll buy soon  ;D) try the Tatula SV...wow!
