New Bass Boats
« on: April 18, 2018, 11:23:19 AM »

The Best Bass Boat on the market question has been beat to death.  There have been a LOT of great input as well. The best answer to that question has been given...."There are a LOT of wheel built boats on the market today". A buyer really can't go wrong with any of the top or well known brands.
But my question is;  Now that B. P. Johnny ownes Legend,(along with Ranger, Nitro, and Lord only knows what else), how long before we see the Legend hull under a Ranger?

Welcome to UltimateBass! ~c~

Could happen. They are positioning in the market, buying and killing off some of their competition is obviously part of their plan. They will consolidate a lot a lot I'm sure. Before long we'll probably going to find the same hardware, seats, and other components across all the brands. Wouldn't surprise me if he killed off Nitro next.

They're not going to sell the molds, that could lead to competition.

It was a sad day when the OMC Boat Group was dismantled, Fisherman lost brands that were truly solid Bass Rigs .Javelin, Hydra  Sports, Stratos, Quest, Princecraft, Lowe, sea nymph, grumman, and roughneck.

Some of the Aluminum boats remain under ownership by Brunswick Marine, and now powered by Mercury...

Stratos missed the cut, but Javelin, and hydra Sports got axed. Triton came onto the scene as well as Champion remained a fine Bass rig.

Ranger purchased Champion, and Stratos, Stratos missed the cut again as Champion was axed.

When the smoke cleared, Stratos, and Triton were still alive, but after the Morris buy out of Ranger, Stratos headed to the gallows...

I forgot to mention Legend. I believe Morris also owns it as well.

From what I can see, Ranger, Triton, Legend , and of course Nitro/Tracker remain.......

OMC had everything and lost everything.
I just watched this a couple weeks ago. Pretty interesting.

That was interesting, It confirms to me at the end, even though the Ficht warranties didn't help matters, It was also greed, that opened OMC to the Jackals. Good history of the company, I also liked the way the "black box " was used in the explanation.
