Big Pond Bass
« on: May 16, 2018, 10:09:03 AM »

Caught this one in a private SC pond.  I put in 8am and fished until 1.  Fished topwater until the sun broke over the trees and then threw swim jigs & spinnerbaits.  Caught so many, I got tired.  Threw a red shad culprit worm in deep water, free spooling it to bottom - when it stopped a few feet down and the line took off.  I set the hook and this big girl jumped 2 feet in the air.  She towed me around - what a blast.  Did not weigh or measure.  Released to be caught another day.

 ~c~ Nice catch!
I know the feeling on throwing that big worm. I know a lot of folks call it boring but when the toads are there they will eat a worm just to have something to munch on.

Great fish.  Released in a private pond.  I'm betting you'll be back to fish that pond another day.
