Something Wrong With Clunn?
« on: June 23, 2018, 05:11:01 PM »

I see that he weighed two fish on the first day on the Mississippi, and that was it for a last place finish. Wonder if anything's wrong?

That is strange but I guess sometimes it just goes that way.

Rick's not a young guy anymore. As old guys realize, the feeling in your hands lessens with age. He had great "feel" when he was in his prime.

Sometimes you just don’t catch them. Happens to all of them.

Granted I don’t watch a ton of fishing shows but the past few I’ve seen with Rick he seems to get “married” to a certain bait and won’t switch.

That could be a problem for any of us to get caught up in.

He's 74, age has taken a toll!!! The latest BASSMASTER has a feature about him, it's quite good and helps explain a few things.

While I am very impressed and it provides me great hope that I'll be bass fishing for a long time to come yet. I do wish he would have called it good and ended his amazing record setting (some he still holds) career back on his last elite win in Florida.

When I visited with him at Gete's funeral you couldn't tell his age. Even with all those years in the sun he still looks maybe sixty. The man is in SHAPE.

I need my heroes to live forever. You young guys won't get it.

Words of wisdom from an old geezer.

Your age does not define what you do, It just alters how you do it.

Clunn has an interesting interview with the Stray Casts podcast - https://youtu.be/A9FlXE26dZA?t=597

They get good guests and know how to talk about bass so it's entertaining if you are interested in tourney guys.

Bo, so true.  For those of us who have been beat up by the calendar we understand what being a bit older can really mean.
