Follow the birds
« on: June 25, 2018, 07:23:30 AM »

Looking for fish, follow the birds, gulls diving or "stuttering" in their flight may indicate a school of baitfish being chased by bass. Herons on or by shore indicate baitfish, kingfishers sitting on branches same deal. Ducks, geese, or swans indicate grass, it could be deep enough to bass.

A very good subject. Here in central Florida I use birds along st. Johns river to find fish feeding activity.

Nature in general is full of xlues if we learn to pay attention.

Smallmouth gurus Tony Bean and Billy Westmoreland both used to say they could tell if the fishing was gonna be good on any given day by what they saw other animals doing while they were driving to the lake.
