New Member From Jersey - Moving to South Carolina
« on: August 03, 2018, 12:11:25 PM »

Hi Everyone,
My name is Len and I'm currently living in New Jersey but will be moving to the Myrtle Beach, SC area in the Spring.
My main reason for joining here is to learn some of the good spots for Bass fishing in the Myrtle Beach area.   I've fished most of the states on the east coast but for some reason not South Carolina.
Since I intend to retire there next year I will be asking members for some input on some of the good spots the area has to offer.  Rivers/Lakes etc.  I've heard that South Carolina has some of the best Bass fishing in the south.   Now it's time to start finding out!!

Regards,
Len

Len and to Ultimate Bass and we are glad to have you here with us so make yourself right at  :)hsh: and we have a member Bud Kennedy  who lives in the Myrtle Beach area and I think most of his fishing is done in the river system but he's still trying to figure it out. In the mean time till you move down there we would love ot see some fishing reports in your state after a day out on the water.  New Jersey Bass Fishing Reports and be sure to stop by the New Members Contest that I sent you a link to in your welcome PM and sign up for a chance to win some Mr Twister baits. Also if you like a challenge stop by and sign up for our friendly computation  and get in on the August IBASS Official thread It's just for bragging rights but still a lot of fun. Well welcome again and hope to see you around as much as you can be and if you have any questions or need any help just holler.

Welcome to Ultimate Bass! Glad to have you join us!  ~c~ ~c~ ~c~

I made the move from MD to SC a few years ago & no regrets at all!  :)

The area of Myrtle Beach has a lot of transplanted folks from up north!  You just have to learn to say "Y'all"! ::)   lo

You need to talk to Bud Kennedy about fishing that area. He's one of our most active members & lives close by & fishes that area!  I'm sure Bud can get you started off on the right track! ;)

Bass fishing is very limited right here in the general Myrtle Beach area.  The most convenient location would be on the Waccamaw River and there are many access points from just about anyplace in Myrtle Beach.  Nearby but not close lakes will include Santee Cooper Lakes not far from Charleston about 2 hours driving and Lake Murray near Columbia about 3 hours driving.  The Cooper River near Charleston is excellent.  Both the Waccamaw and Cooper rivers are  tidal with the Cooper river tides being very significant.  The Waccamaw tides not so much but tidal none the less.

When you get moved to Myrtle Beach get back with me and perhaps we can go wet a line together.
