Cleaning out an old fishing backpack and came across of few Mepps spinners. Anyone still use them?

Princeton_Man

Caught many bass and northern pike on those and Mepps Comet Minnows in my early years. Still have a couple somewhere. Haven't used one in 25-30 years.

I bought one I use to want as a kid just to have it. Ive never fished it I just liked it because I use to dream of having that particular one, it was in some catalogue we had.  :embarassed:

I buy a dozen yellow roostertails every year for smallmouth in Erie. After  25 big smallies they are shot.

Always have a few around. Made some last year, had great results with them. Think I may throw some today.

Yes. I keep a couple around for tough days. I also use Musky sized in line buzz baits though not as often as in the olden days. I always thought of them as a river bait.

Absolutely! I keep a small assortment in my "panic" box as well as tje boxes in my bug-out bags.As Zippy pointed out the smallies in particular really love em. I've caught quite a few decent largemouth on them too along with an assortment of other species.

IMHO just a great all around lure to have in your box anytime you go out.

1/4 and 1/6 some day one works better than the other.

Not enough!!! Inline buzzbaits work great over grass that hasn't topped out.

I'll use them sometimes, but primarily for panfish. The Roostertail's are great little lures, and I make some of my own.

I agree with Rodney on the inline buzzbaits too! They can be a very productive lure sometimes!  ~gf
