Mounting my HOOK
« on: October 06, 2018, 11:36:05 AM »

I mounted my new HOOK 2 9 inch last weekend, the pics didn't come outside I took new ones, I'll explain what I did.
The first is it installed.
The second are the 2 clamshells I ran the cables through. I used to have them out in the open with my old unit, looked ugly and quite often got in the way. The clamshells were purchased at BOATS US, they are inexpensive and make for a neat install. The transducer cable and foot control cable took up 1 and the power and transducer cables took up another.
I ran the transducer cable from the top of the tm shaft down through the power cable for the tm, I was worried there might be interference but there isn't.
This is the HOOK 2 SPLITSHOT. It has 2D and downscan along with mapping, so Farr it's working quite well and I'm very pleased, as I become more familiar with the unit I'll post some screen shots.
One thing I really like besides the larger screen is you just plug and unplug the cables making it very easy ..to remove the unit for security.
