somedays i really wonder if I know just what in the world I am doing.  saturday was one of those.  did talk to a few other guys who also said it was tough, slow.  based on the tournament guys running in, out.  back in, out, must not have been great for them either.

finally had one take pity on me.

they sure are pretty in the fall.




water temps have cooled to low 70's.  figure they'll be even lower after this week.  milfoil beds are pulling back, lake is down close to winter pool, lots of places where the milfoil 'stems' are piled up in windblown windrows.  interesting times.

Catching one is better than none and if it's a small mouth it's like catching two

I'm with you on the "I have to wonder about my abilities", fished for 6 hours yesterday and didn't have a bite that I know about.

sometimes, lip, we black out at key moments on the water.  it happens.  like when that 20 pounder comes over the side.  or in a frenzy where we get 6 bass on one squarebill (one for each hook point)

it happens.

I don't think I heard anyone say they didn't catch anything.
