Mother Nature in hospital

Laurie slipped and fell at her home, hitting her head on the floor, and was rushed to E.R. The good news is she is doing o.k., with a severe headache and back and neck pain, but tests seem to show nothing really severe.
She will be there for a few days probably.
Please join me in praying for here quick and complete recovery!

Don thanks for letting us know and for sure will be saying lots of prayers for her. Glad she is going to be OK except for the severe headache and back and neck pains.

Thanks everyone for the thoughts and prayers here and on Facebook.

After the CT of her head and neck, they let her go ahead and come home. Obviously, I have a list of things to watch for.

I was in another room and didn't see Laurie fall, but Malachi said Marshall spilled his milk and Laurie came running to help clean it up before it made a huge mess. Our kitchen floor is laminated, and I guess that socks, milk, and laminated floors don't work to well.

Malachi said she looked like a cartoon character that slipped on a banana peel.

The official diagnosis is Neck Contusion, Migraine aggravated by fall and possible tail bone bruising. Oh, and her shoulder hurts like hell, I reckon there will be other things that hurt as the next few hours move along... She is feeling better and home sleeping now.

Scared the crap out of me but looks like she's going to be okay with some rest.

Sorry to hear about her fall. I hope she didn't get a concussion. My wife fell down the basement stairs last year and receive a pretty substantial concussion. Knocked her completely out. It took about 3 weeks of physical therapy for her to lose the dizziness and quit vomiting. EXTREMELY scary. Thank your lucky stars if she doesn't experience any symptoms.

Of course we sent some prayers up as well. If you have floors like that you might consider getting here some of these socks. They are extremely comfortable and yet kinda tacky on the bottom. And they are not too expensive. Certainly less expensive than an ambulance ride!

So glad to here Mother is home and not seriously hurt. You gotta be some careful thorough when it comes to head injuries.

Thank you everyone for your prayers and support. FishandKamp, I will look into those socks, I can't get her to wear slippers. I've bought fancy fur lined ones down to cheap no toes and she just won't do it. She's a sock girl thru and thru... So maybe those will help...

She still sleeping more than I like. I expected her to sleep most of yesterday but today she's only been awake about an hour and a half around 10 am and then again about 2. I'm going to wake her up now for the meds they sent her home with. The meds have been known to cause her to sleep more so I have to balance that with whether or not she's sleeping too much. Doc's said that by Saturday she needs to get up and move around a lot more. But the pain she's still in today makes me wonder if there isn't more to the deep bruising. But we are getting older LOL Anyway her head ache was almost non existant this morning so that is awesome news.

I'll try and post again tomorrow but if I make her get up and walk too much she might take me out so if I don't show up to post send the search party. Mother Nature is a HORRIBLE patient LOL
