Reel Cleaning
« on: December 03, 2018, 08:12:54 PM »

Well itís that time of year again. Just started tearing down the Daiwa reels and giving them a good cleaning, lube and a few upgrades. 7 down and about 30 more to go. I will say this task was far less time consuming 20 years ago when I only had 4!

That's a lot of reels, just take your time. Since it's your equipment, sit back and have an adult beverage and enjoy the process.

Been servicing my own reels for a long time, and this is very sound advise. Even after all these years I still end up loosing a bearing retainer or something. I guess 1 or 2 small parts out of about 30 reels isnít bad. So far so good this year, but itís early in the process.

That sounds like a good way to lose a part or 3. ~shade
