Loxahatchee 12/16/18
« on: December 16, 2018, 03:53:59 PM »

Took an adventure day over to Lox. Decided to take the eastern canal and run it north to see what I can find. There were a few areas I poked through and found some hidden holes as well. The mouth of the canal had a few pad patches, so I started burning a UV style Bang worm through them with the Tatula SV. This produced a few fish out of an area with less than 3 feet of water.

I continued up the canal about a mile or 2, and found my first hidden area, and started tossing a lizrad around, and I found my biggest fish off in a sawgrass point. Managed a few other fish in this particular hoke as well before leaving for another.

Heading into the second hole, this one I found a bit more open and not as productive, but still managed a few decent ones.

After that hole I decided to take a boat ride and explore. I took that canal way up north about another 10 miles to see what I could run into. Not that good for finding holes, so I decided to sit on my seat and do some pitching around with a worm, which produced a few solid fish for me. The wind started coming from the north pretty good, so I let it take me down the canal for the next hour which I chucked and wined some baits.

The day was nice with a clear sky and some cool breeze. I really got to play with the Tatula CT Type R and Tatula rod combo, and it was a really nice setup to fish with. I was able to feel the slightest of bites with that rod.

See you caught one on a red shad worm. An old standby that caught many a bass.

Sounds like a nice relaxing day on the water, with new toys.  Doesn't get much better then that! ~c~ ~c~ ~c~  Did you go north past the main ramps on the east canal?

Thanks for the report!

The Tatula rod is super sensitive. I have the frog rod and Iíve used it to throw a worm in a pinch from the bank you can feel everything.

Not quite that far. Wife needed to meet somebody in the afternoon, so I had to cut it shorter than I wanted to. I was about halfway there.  lo

I might wrap up my year taking a trip out to Lox, and see how I do this time around. I haven't been out there in a long while.
