everyone and it's overcast with a thin layer of ice all over everything . I just hope we don't lose our power later today when the winds kick up to 40 or 50 MPH with the gut. That would start bringing down tree branches which would take out power line.  ~sweat Rodney glad your feeling a bit better today and that your nurse practitioner is nice and said your up to snuff.  lo lo Donald I hear you I don't like shopping for that stuff either. I don't even like going shopping with Diana at all . With her ADHD she can make up her mind and keeps getting sidetracked. What should only take  couple of hours turns into more like 5 or 6 and we wind up getting on each others nerves and then she gets mad at me. ::) So needless to say we don't go shopping much and she don't like going by herself so she does a lot of stuff over the internet. Brandon so did the DEQ do anything about that problem? huber sorry your pooped after you workout but at least you got a little better in order to get back to the gym.

Start whipping them into shape SHC!

Morning guys!  I'm beat this morning.  Yesterday was first day back to the gym after being sick for a week.  Went well.  Got a buys week and got fishing on my mind lo
What yous going to buys this week  lo lo

SHC you could always wear some gloves if you didn't want to touch them fish in there. There might be some nice ones in them pools. You mean you can't eat any fish without getting sick. :'(  Sounds like you got at least one of them folks that work there is a good worker. Well hope everyone has a great day and be safe out there.

Need to call them for sure regarding that.

Guys, these are old waste water ponds that have been out of service for a few years. Meaning, no poo water coming in.
And guess what? They're full of fish! I'll be testing the water to see if it's safe enough to handle the fish, but obviously I won't be eating any of them. Can't anyway, I'd just puke it up.

Already looking like a hero right now Bud. Walked into a catastrophe this morning and got a grip on it within half an hour or so. Gotta give some credit to one of the guys too, he was on top of his game this morning too and showed some good critical thinking and problem solving skills. He's the guy I'm going to try to make my #2.
Can't share too much right now because I'm not sure what's going to come of this, but let's just say I'm now fully aware of yet another obstacle that's going to have to be handled, likely with rough hands.

Oh what a treat to fish close to work and I bet they bite on anything as it's probably not fished  ~c~

I can eat very small amounts of FISH. Maybe half a tuna sammich, a small filet or two of fried fish. If I overdo it even a little bit, or let any sort of shell fish even TOUCH something else I eat, I will make an unholy mess everywhere. And I mean every where. No controlling it, some of the most violent vomiting you'd ever see. If I turn green and start flapping my hands at people to back up, it means RUN LIKE HELL!
It does suck. I used to love seafood, even shell fish of just about any sort, but calamari has always been one of my absolute favorites. I'd take a pass on any water bug for just a taste of good calamari.
This is an issue that first started in my early 20's, around 20 or 21. Made me mad as hell to one day suddenly discover I can't stomach it anymore. On top of that, it makes me miserable for several days with body aches and pains similar to what you'd get from the flu.

Close to work? Lol, it's AT work! My new office is co-located at these old sewer ponds, maybe 75-80 yards away and within the same fenced in property. A new sewer treatment plant was built between the ponds and the office, and it now handles all the waste water.

We had a specialist come in today who's familiar with the system to give me a crash course on what I'm supposed to be doing with it, and I found out through him that the ponds have been out of service for about 8 years and had actually been checked out somewhat recently. He said exactly what I was hoping to hear, safe to fish out of but probably best to catch and release only. For nearly a decade these ponds have had nothing but rainwater going into them. The bacteria used to break down the waste has even died down to natural levels because there's no more waste for it to eat except for what occurs from wildlife, such as fish, turtle and bird poop.

There are even gravel beds and baffles in one area of one, I'd have to track down some old prints to figure out where though.

SHC I don't care to much for sea food but give me some fresh water fish are crawdad tails and stand back cause I can eat a bunch of them fillets and crawdad tails. That's funny I love crawdad tails but not so much lobster tails. Sounds like you got a good place to catch some fish. It will be interesting to see what kind of fish are in them and how big they are. As big as they look and since it's been unfished they might be some good size fish in there. So be sure to take some poles with you to work .  ;D

Good evening to all

Beautiful day here in Central Texas today   ;)  Forecasted temps were 36 / 60dgrs with 32% humidity.  We had clear skies all day ~sun ~sun ~sun

:toot:  Hey guys before I forget Valentine Day is a couple days away  ~shade  Don't forget the flowers and candy.  I just gave my wife her candy and flowers.  I'm covered for another year  ;)

Slow day at school today.  I'm starting to get my thoughts together on my Summer Cleaning Plan.  I'm going to submit my Team's Vacation Dates tomorrow to my supervisor.  I sent an email to the Principal and both Assistant Principals reference Summer School and any other activities going on.  The Lil Darlings and Knot Heads have been behaving pretty well so far.

I'll share this one incident that happened this morning I think its pretty funny.  A 7th grade boy got the azz cause the coach made him go outside and run laps with everyone else.  Well he didn't have / couldn't find his gym clothes.  The coach told him to go and check his gym locker.  He kid got mouthy and both him and coach went into the locker room.

The kid opens the locker up and there's his gym clothes.  The coach told him to get dressed.  The kid got mouthy again and slammed his locker door shut.  Only thing the door didn't stay shut.  It flung back open and busted him right in the kisser ~b~  There was blood all over the floor etc.  The tough guy was crying like a lil baby with blood running down his face   :'( :'(

Coach came down to my office to let me know about the blood being everywhere.  I got my disinfectant and gloves and a rag and cleaned up the blood drippings.  Coach was explaining how it all happened on the way to the locker room.  I was laughing my azz off.  Served the Knot Head right for being so mouthy  ~shade

Rodney; Tks for the update sure glad to hear you're feeling better.  I'm going to attempt to get the Stratos out this weekend.  The Special Olympics are out of town again this weekend.  So Saturday morning I'll give it a shot then.  If not then Sunday after church I'll take her out and see if she still floats.  We got some really nice weather forecasted for this weekend.

Brandon; You been out fishing these past few days?

SHC; You got your own private fishing lake there right at the office.  How cool is that   ~shade  Keep us update on the water situation there.  There are some wash rack water retention ponds over on Ft. Hood that can be fished also.  They're all catch and release only.  I remember while at Ft. Polk they had those same kind of ponds by their wash racks also.  Problem fishing those ponds were they all had alligators in them.  They always were sunning themselves on the gravel paths that ran around the ponds.

Lip;  Hope that nasty weather moves on around ya and you're not without any power.

Hub; Glad you're feeling better also.  I have fishing on my mind all the time.  We got nice weather now and hopefully this coming weekend I'll get my Stratos wet.

Bud; You out there buddy or has the Honey Do's got you busy?

To everyone have a relaxing evening and a better day tomorrow.

Evening y'all!

Not much fishing lately. I got on the water on Friday and caught a few small bass, but the weather here has a recent trend of being unseasonably warm, then dropping unseasonably cold and staying there a few days. Then repeat. All with showers when these fronts come in. Fishing has been really tough.

No call to DEQ yet. Work has been keeping me busy, and I (for some unknown reason) stepped up and decided to manage a project for my team for our annual meeting in Detroit in March, even though I'm at the bottom of the totem pole. Literally I'm the last one in line. However, if I didn't think I could do it better than anyone else in our southeast team, I wouldn't have stepped in and taken responsibility for handling it.

Also closing on my mother in laws house deals on friday (both closing on sale and closing on her new home purchase). When they moved down here she didn't have a job lined up so i put my name on everything for the financing, so I have to attend the closing to sign everything. And I'm sure I'll be driving the moving truck and helping them move all weekend as well

Moral of the story: I want to fish, but work, weather, and life keep getting in the way

Good morning everyone. It's wet but still a good morning. I've been so overwhelmed at work and with new Army responsibilities.

HAPPY HAPPY HUMP DAY!!! The work week is half over, it's all downhill from here!!! 30 headed downhill, possible(70%) snow for the next several days with temps dropping into the teens, high wind advisory for today, it's started. I fired up the snow blower and cleared our driveway and the neighbors apron, a couple hours later it changed to sleet then rain then froze, the driveway is open to figure skating. All these changes mean my body hurts, pure and simple, I'm going to try to make the gym, the ice pack will be ready for I get home. Got some good news, my MRI was approved, just waiting for the appoints now , should be a couple of days and I'll have them.
Lip, I'm hoping spring gets here soon, I'm tired of this crap, be winter or don't but not this in and out stuff. Are you saying Diana makes up her mind and it's set for 5 minutes, sounds like mine sometimes, I don't like shopping with her much either. lo lo ;)
Huber, good to hear you're feeling better, I did 5 days in the gym last week none yet this week, I miss it.
Brandon, hope that drainage isn't toxic. You're a good son!!! ~c~ ~c~ ~c~ Hope you find some time to wet a line.
SHC, looks like a handy spot for lunch time fishing, you may have a motherlode of big bass there. Don't go into anaphylactic shock without a Epi Pen handy, tain't fun son!!! Sounds like you already have a handle on the job and at least one good worker.
Bud, hope you're enjoying going through your gear and planning what to do under anything thrown at you, it's a lot of enjoyment I know.
Donald, poor kid, hard knocks is a tough way to learn, let's hope the little darlings behave for the rest of the year. Hope you can get out this weekend, need to scratch that itch. lo
Have a great day, stay warm!!!

Those of you guys playing FF, get your teams in today!

In other news. Spring keeps trying to pop her head in here in western PA, but then winter comes right back around and rears her ugly head. The good news is that a lot of the little ponds around my community are halfway melted. I might have to get out and sling a few casts this weekend just to remember what it feels like to make a cast.

Current temp is 64 but the wind is out of the North at 15 and it sure feels a lot colder then the thermometer is showing.  Just routine stuff and usual errands today.  Was very quiet here this morning until the wife returned from her weekly Church volunteer thing.  I think we are going to dinner tonight but not sure if she really said that or not.  If she says lets go I am ready.  After all I don't want her to feel like I wasn't listening.   ;D

Took some of the fixtures off of the outside of the house in preparation for next week.  The fixtures were mostly plant hangers and stuff like that.  Also a couple slate decorative signs.  Really looking forward to get this renovation underway.

One of the reels that I sent for service had a problem so I sent it back to Mike to find the problem.  He got it all fixed and is shipping back to me today.  Turns out an internal spring popped off and got caught between some gears.  I am sure it will be fine now just like the other three he did for me.  Things like this happens but Mike for sure made it right immediately.  Thats why we send out stuff to him.

Evening everyone and it's been a busy day around here and just now getting around to this thread.  :surrender: Woe had a thin layer of ice on the trees this morning and the wind was blowing about 30 to 40 MPH and we were lucky it didn't take down any power lines. At least not in my area but other ares wasn't that lucky.  ~sweat At least the  ~sun was out so it melted most of the ice off the trees. Donald thanks for the story of that little knot head getting his just reward.  lo lo So looks like y'all might have another one of them fronts passing through your area again with some more  ~rain and cooler weather unless the weather guys are wrong again.   lo lo Brandon looks like your going to be a busy guy over the the next week or so. top sounds like they got you jumping through hoops at work and with the army.  ~sweat Hope it settles down for you a little so you can get out and take the boy fishing. Rodney glad they approved your MRI  ~c~ ~c~ Sounds like your is getting a good workout.  ;D
fishballer I have my team all set to go now and hope my changes work out. I'm thinking them ground hogs were wrong again this year.  lo lo Bud sounds like y'all are just about ready for them guy to start on the rehab and hope they do a good job on it. Well hope everyone has a good night and be safe out there.

Good evening to all,

Clear skies with the forecasted temps of 50 / 62dgrs with 33% humidity across Central Texas today  ~sun  It was really nice here today.

Couple kids (girls) got suspended today for fighting in the cafeteria during lunch.  The parents had to come and pick them up.  The parents weren't none to happy from what I could tell.  I submitted my Teams Vacation dates (28 Jun > 8 Jul) to my Supervisor.  She sent them back informing me the principal had to approved them first.  Hopefully I'll get his answer back tomorrow.  If not then I'll catch him at lunch time and ask him about it.

I'm starting to plan for the Summer Cleaning.  We'll be called soon to place our order for Summer Cleaning supplies.    The last day of school is 30 May  ~c~   June 3rd we start and we'll need to be finished by the 6th of Aug.  The teachers show up on the morning of 8 Aug 19 to set up their classrooms.

Bud; So how was the dinner out or did you not have to go?  One of these days I'm going to have Mike clean my reels for me.  I hear he does a great job.

fishballer; Tight lines there buddy.   Hope your able to connect on a couple  ~fff ~fff

Rodney; Yes sir it's down hill from here on  ;)  Tks for the update on the MRI issue.  That is great news.  I called the Special Olympics Point of Contact this afternoon to verify the Saturday schedule.  Yep they're going to be in town.  So I'll be at work Saturday morning for a 1/2 day.  It don't look like the Stratos is going to get wet this weekend  :(  I am going fishing Friday after I get off work though ~c~

Carl my fishing partner and a  UB member bought himself a 2004 Stratos 275 with a 115 Johnson.  We're going to take it out and see if we can't Christin it up right    ~shade

top; Work sure has a way of getting into our free time ~xyz  We all understand that crap.  Hopefully you'll have a break here soon and you'll be back out on the water.

Brandon; Good luck with the closing and all that other stuff.

Lip; Buddy you are one busy man  ~sweat ~sweat ~sweat  Glad to hear there wasn't any ice damage done around your place.  You hang in there buddy warmer weather is inbound soon  ~shade

To everyone have a really pleasant evening.  Hopefully tomorrow will be a better day for everyone.

Donald was great.  Just went to the longhorn and we both had filets and baked potato.  Not used to eating like that so we are both pretty stuffed.  We also had to stop at the mall and the Mrs. bought two pairs of shoes so I guess she really had a good evening.

Don, surprisingly, there are no gators around these ponds. At least not that I've seen, YET! It's still a bit cool for them to be moving around much though.

I've had an interesting couple of days. Let's see...
Been learning a lot the past few days, so that's good. I'm already confident I can keep this sewer plant running.
I've become aware of a couple of disgruntled former employees.
Have a sewer lift station malfunctioning. No surprise there.

Hey, on a related note; flushable wipes, aren't. Well, they're flushable, but they are NOT sewer friendly at all. I could show y'all, but no one would appreciate seeing that. Feel free to spread the word, your local waste water tech will appreciate it.

Took the youngest boy to the doctor yesterday for a regular checkup, of course all is well. Then laundry, then back home for homemade beef stew! Delicious!
Then we all sat down to watch a movie and wouldn't ya know it, the boy's bird died while we were eating dinner. Very sad, it's his first experience with something like this and he's just heart broken.

So I went out back and dug a little cigar box sized grave for the parakeet.
Then the boy still wanted to watch a movie, figured it'd take his mind off it and I figured that sounded like a good idea.
However, it took my fat azz longer than I realized to dig that tiny grave, so after our little funeral and a movie, it ended up being 1 AM before I hit the rack!
Then back up and at 'em at 0530, and I've been going full speed all day.

It's almost midnight now, I'm taking a shower and going to bed!

Good morning all!!! 26 headed to near 40, possible sunshine, looks like rain for tomorrow than back to winter. While there were some heavy snow falls yesterday there wasn't that much that came down, the squalls would last just a few minutes. The back is feeling better, good thing it's shopping day. lo ::) I should be hitting the gym today haven't yet this week, 30 on the elliptical then home to sit on ice before taking my shower, we do what we need to do.
Lip, hopefully it won't be long before you're on your way to crappie heaven, you have all your gear ready?
Top, you're doing good things and it's all appreciated!!! ~c~ ~c~ ~c~ Hopefully you'll get some fishing time soon.
SHC, there aren't any gators, at least not until you decide to do a bit of fishing or sit and eat your lunch, then they'll crawl out of the woodwork. lo lo ~shade Maybe those disgruntled folks could have a black staff car pull up to their home and discuss the negatives of messing with your job, just saying.
Bud, sounds like a happy evening all the way around, she's happy then you are too. Not much if any in the way of honeydos, you must be living right. lo ::)
Donald, don't you love bureaucratic organizations, all the back and forth that has to be done. Sounds like somebody got the message, punish then ask questions, oldschool, it works. Hope you and Carl break the boat in right, don't forget the pics.
Have a great Friday eve!!!

everyone and it's 34* and suppose to get up to 46* today.  ~c~ The  ~sun was out for about 5 minutes  lo lo and this evening after the front goes through and we grt on the backside of it they are calling for some -5 with the wind chill again with some snow or freezing drizzle all depending on which way that next system moves.  Donald hope you and Carl break his boat in the right way and get some Bass slime on it.  ;D So two of them girls got into a fight. I wouldn't want to get in between two cats when they are fighting. SHC sorry to hear that your boys little bird died and what took so long to dig a little hole in the yard.  ;D I read your story about them flushable wipes to Diana cause she uses them all the time for everything. I think now she might not use them as much. You have time to make a few cast befor going home and still get home in time to spend a little time with the Mrs for valentine's day . Hey just stop by the store on the way home and pick up some and ;D  Rodney sounds like your having this up and down weather also and our old bodies just don't know how to handle it anymore.  :surrender: Have fun out shopping. Sunny and 64 at this moment but it does not feel like it.  Still got that ol north wind that is just plain cold.  Me and the Mrs are headed to the movies today with a little pizza planned for this evening.  Otherwise nothing else on the agenda for today.

Still have not gone to Bass Pro to pick up some Trokar flipping hooks.  I might as well just order them online and be done with it.  Yes thats right, I really don't like going to Bass Pro.

Neighbor reported that he  saw three coyotes this morning while he was out with his dog.  I have not heard them but with all the reports it does not surprise me that they are around.  Normally I would check my outdoor cameras but I have taken them down in readiness for the renovation work.  The motion detectors are also removed between the houses so no alarms are operating from those positions.  They probably would not alarm on something as small as a coyote anyway.  The animal or person needs to be about 50 lbs before they can see it.

Donald Garner

Good evening to everyone,

Beautiful day here in Central Texas.  Forecasted temps were 56 / 77dgrs with 46% humidity.  We had lots of sun out across our area today  ~sun

Busy day at school this morning getting some extra things done for some teachers.  I took the afternoon off to haul a trailer load of tree trimming to the land fill.  The wife was worried about those darn bugs that cause Live Oaks to die.  They show up when the weather gets warm and its starting to get warm here in Texas again..

Bud; Enjoy the movie and evening out with the wife.  Here lately I've been ordering BPS stuff on line more.  The headache of driving to the store, fighting traffic, paying the local sale tax etc.  It's cheaper for me to order on line.

Lip; Wow that some serious weather change there buddy  ~xyz  Buddy we're going to give it the ole try.  He's gotten a really nice boat.  I'll be sure to take a few pictures of it tomorrow.  Hopefully we'll have some pictures of some bass to go with them  ;)

Hub; With that weird weather y'all are having up there in Missouri its a wonder everyone not in the hospital.  Hope you get to feeling better soon.

fishballer; Got the candy and flowers taken care of day before yesterday  ;)  I don't like fishing in those temperatures either  :surrender:

Rodney; Glad the back is feeling better  ~c~  So was it an eventful day of shopping ?  I hooked up the Stratos to the pickup and drove down to get the tire pressure checked.  I had to move it out of the storage yard to hook up the cargo trailer with the tree trimming in it.  The trailer tires still roll  lo
I'm looking forward to getting on the water with Carl and his new to him Stratos tomorrow.  Hope fully we can find a fish or two to get the juices flowing and to christen his new boat in right.

SHC; Hey buddy we're all proud of you getting this job.  We know you're going to do thing right.  Again best wishes on this new adventure.  I'm not for sure why all those gators were around those drainage / water ponds at the wash racks at Ft. Polk.  Maybe they LADF&W were checking to see if wildlife could live in that type of water.  I just remember seeing them sunning their selves a lot during the Summer months.

I got the poo on me! Won't gross y'all out with details.
It is very obvious that I'll be getting another laundry bin solely for work clothes and that they'll be getting washed separately.
No doubt about it, this first week has been one hell of an adventure. There's still one more day, and I intend to pretty much swim in it tomorrow.
I am honestly surprised at how much this doesn't bother me at all. I guess all the diapers I've changed, butts I've wiped, dog crap I've picked up, animals butchered, etc.
It's gross, yeah, but it's honest work and I have a shower at my office.

Didn't get to cast a line today. Our schedules work out so that I'm getting home around 4:15 and Connie gets home around 4:30, but today I had to work a little late so I went straight home, took a shower, we talked a bit about our day and went out to eat.
But, my work schedule is 7-4 Mon-Thurs, 7-12 on Friday. The nasty task at hand should be done close to noon, so I'll shower at the office, clock out, and see about catching something.

Now just because I didn't cast a line don't mean I didn't catch anything today! I was pulling water out of the pond with a 5 gallon bucket to wash down the inside of an outbuilding on the levee. Ended up with a tiny little perch (I believe) in my bucket. The pic is on my work phone, tapatalk is on my personal phone. I may be able to share it tomorrow if I don't forget.

TGIF!!! TGIF!!! EAGLE FARTS DAY!!! SPEND IT LIKE YOU HAVE IT!!! 42 with the temp dropping, possible showers, cloudy, duh, the sinuses are full. :surrender: Guys, I do the grocery shopping Thursday mornings, I do it then so I don't have to deal with all the shoppers, mothers are the worst, cutting me off, blocking the isle, cluttering up the checkout, waiting in long lines at the deli counter, and picking through all the bruised and damaged fruit and veggies not to mention the long lines at the sub shop. The worst part of the whole thing is I'm, being male, and blamed for it all, I can do a weeks shopping from leaving the house to backing into the driveway in an hour. when my wife is off and decides to go with me I give her the produce list and go get everything else done then go back to get her, trouble is she wants to then go through the rest of the store aisle by aisle looking each section over and reading labels, I'm a man on a mission, she is the great explorer checking out minutiae. :surrender: :surrender:
Lip, this up and down is killing me, my sinuses are constantly full, I don't drain well, and my bac, along with other areas doesn't know wether to crap out or let me hit the gym. Not fun.
SHC, good thinking heading home, need to make mama happy, good idea taking a shower first also. lo lo Hope you find some good fish there!!!
Huber, this weather is making a lot of folks sick, the hospitals are allowing only one visitor at a time and they must wear a mask whenvisting somebody, the flu is knocking folks down and taking prisoners.
Fish, my wife got a valentines card yesterday and tomorrow will get the rest of the goodies, that's how you have a happy wife after 48 years. ;D :) ;D :)
Bud, sounds like a good time with Mrs. Bud.
Donald, hope you and Carl have a great day today!!!
Have a great day, stay warm and healthy!!!

Morning everyone!  I made the misses her favorite dinner "phillies" last night and then doped up on meds lo  passed out around 8pm.

Feeling a bit better today!  Hopefully this weekend I can pass this stuff as Monday I have an interview for a new position at work.  Would be a decent raise and a huge life style change for me.  It's for an account manager position.  Me and 2 other people are in the running.  I have the most experience with our current customers and with customer service/sales.

Time will tell!

If I did get it most of my accounts would be southern Illinois so lots of spots to stop and fish after I make visits :)
