Daiwa Fuego CT
« on: April 05, 2019, 07:45:48 PM »

I had me some Ebay bucks accumulated, and was almost unsure what to do with them. Almost... having this reel before, I decided since I'm gonna get one for a killer deal. This time, I will do a step by step teardown like I did to the SLX. This is the $100 reel from Daiwa debuted in 2017. Stay tuned...

There you go again taking something a part that we all know is good especially for the price point.
I will be watching to see what you find.

Curious how long youll own this one for.
I wish I used left handed (wrong hand) reels cause Id be able to buy them at a discounted price after 1 or 2 uses from you.

Who knows. The only reason I sold it was because Martin wanted it.

Wait... now you are re-buying reels you used to have?? Oh boy....  ~b~

I remember this one actually. Pretty cool little reel once you were done tinkering with it.

Yeah, and Ive got a few parts reels, so Im gonna see what kinda coolness I can make out of this. Fuego CT 2.0

Lets see if I can make something weird out of a Fuego CT, a Tatula CT Type R, and maybe some parts from a Tatula SV.  ~beer~

Pieces. Just pieces. Got kicked out of my room, but the progress and experiment might pan out. Haven't seen what I wanna do done yet. So, there is hope that what I wanted to do before, is gonna happen this time around since I have the spare reels to pull it off.

You know,  you really ought to go to work for Daiwa in their Research and Development department.  You could start your own line of customizable stuff.

Changed the levelwind system to the Fuego. Wasn't too bad to swap. Now has 2 bearings supporting the levelwind.

Red cast control cap and Zion drag star from a Type R. Handle and knob assembly from a JDM Tatula. Red handle nut retainer, and gun metal nut. And here you have it folks...you've seen it here, the first Daiwa Fuego TWS!

So basically you built a Tatula CT. Nice!

Question I thought I saw plastic gears. Do all the CTs have those or just the fuego?

All. The idle gears on most Daiwas are plastic, same with all brands.

As far as the "its a Tatula CT"...yes, in a sense it is, but, the looks are what I wanted different. The Fuego has a better overall look to me than the standard Tatula CT. And liking certain other things to be different, there was only one way to accomplish this.

Yeah, you know I'm just giving you a hard time cause it's fun! lol.

It looks good though. I like the matte black finish on the fuego.
