Ordered My Daiwa Fuego CT Today
« on: August 02, 2019, 06:29:30 PM »

Thay were on sale on Amazon. My wife's brother's give me a $100 gift card every Christmas and I still had a good portion left from 2018. I also had a $15 credit from Amazon that came through this morning.

The 2 best parts are my total out of pocket cost was only $1.88 and that included next day delivery for being a Prime member.

So my new toy will be here tomorrow and it only cost me $1.88

Did I mention I'm excited?

Man that is hard to beat $1.88 for a reel. I struggled all day not to get one of the Shimano SLX combo that is on sale 30% off at american legacy fishing. $139.99 isnt bad from what I read about the reels and rods they are pretty nice for the money.

That slx combo is very tempting at that price

Good for you Smallie and sounds like a great deal. You just need to have Mike or Matt bling it out for you.  ;D

I probably use spinning gear for shakey heads and wacky rigs 75% of the time, so baitcasting isnít second nature to me. But after Matt tuned a couple of my daiwa baitcasters the control and managablility(backlashing Lol)  was worth every penny.

Eventually I will have it tuned. The wife couldn't argue with me spending the money on the reel since it only cost me $1.88, but she would for sure give me a world of grief if I sent it off for anything like that right now.

When I start to buy the "bling" parts I will have to be discreet but at least most of them are small enough that she may not notice.

Thanks buddy, I definitely will enjoy it. It will eventually be headed your way for a tuning and installation of some of the bling I'll want to add. I'm SURE you have all the necessary tools. That will be a ways out though.

It finally arrived!!!  Feels pretty good in the hand. A little larger and heavier than the reels I have been using (Abu Gen 3 Revo Premiers) and the handle is gonna have to be swapped out eventually for something a bit longer but overall I'm pretty happy with it. ~sun

Of course the true test will come when I get it spooled up and put to use.

If all goes well, and as money allows, I don't think this is going to be my last Daiwa reel. And it's all you  ^-^ guys fault.   lo

If you want a bigger handle, any handle that goes on a Lews or Abu, will fit the drive shaft of the Daiwas.
