Like the title states - what rod , reel and line make up your typical flipping / pitching jig set up around shallow cover ?

I use a Skeete Reese model Jig/Heavy Worm rod that is sort of a Heavy MH. Has extra backbone to it.

I've gone to 20 lb Assassin Flouro. I seem to get more bites than I did with Braid.

Lews Speed Spool reel. 7.1

Can toss from 1/4 to 3/4 with it easy.

Rod: LSCR custom made flippin/pitchin rod

Reel: Daiwa Fuego CT 8.1:1 gear ratio, 33.9 IPT

Line: 65 lb. Hi-Vis Spiderwire braid

To be honest, for most of the places I get to fish 65 pound braid is overkill but I don't want to have to change it out for those times when I do need it. Besides, it makes no difference to the fish.   ~shade

I just got this rod a month or two ago and I have really grown to like it. Its a beast of a rod yet weighs only 5.3oz. Paired with the Tournament Pro G reel its a very nice setup.

Reel: Lew's TPG1XH Tournament Pro G 8.3:1
