2015 RAM
« on: October 20, 2019, 10:11:29 AM »

So in 2015 I bought a new Ram 1500 Big Horn Crew Cab, pretty decent truck. Never have I had any issues with the truck, only maintenance is tires and oil changes. I now have 81000 miles on the truck and  almost traded it in last week.
Saturday morning I am pulling out of the drive headed to Murvaul - 1 hour away, I get about 50 yards from the house and hear a noise from under the hood. Open it up and my fan is shaking like a chihuahua shitting a peach seed. So water pump is no good- glad I didn't get far from the house.
Had I traded it in the dealer would have to have dealt with this. Mechanic installing water pump this morning, hope to be on the water this evening.

80k and only a water pump, that's pretty good...

I've got a 2016 but don't drive it near as much as you do yours, I've only got 37k on it now.

RAM Tuff!
I owned a 97. Put a water pump in at 160K, catalytic converters at 200K, and a clutch at 240K (yes, 240,000). A lot of that was highway but, had to be the best truck I ever owned. I traded it in at 260K. I figured it was only a matter of time before something major let go.

I love the truck - I hate the millage I have on it compared to what I owe on it, I went a little upside down when I traded in the Ford I had - I had to get rid of that thing.
Still owe around 17 on the truck, so I was going to get a new one that I was able to pay off and still have some value in the truck.
I will stay with RAM although I hate the new body style, I would have to go with the classic.

If you ride in the new trucks, you'll learn to love the body, not a car on the road that rides any better than that truck! They changed to 4 link and it made a heck of a difference!!
