Another nice day on the water, in at 8:15, out at 4 with 8 legal fish and a dozen shorts plus a big grinnell that absolutely destroyed a 9 dollar spinner bait. Water was 2'+ higher than late last week and rose most of the day aided by a rising tide and a strong south wind at 10-15 mph plus the river at flood stage pushing the water almost 2' into the marsh again. Water temps hit 65 by afternoon and air temps in the mid 70's with a mix of clouds and sun, visibility was 1' in most areas. Caught a few on a 1/4 oz. spinner bait and most pitching a T rigged watermelon red Zoom worm right up against the marsh grass with a 3/16 oz. pegged weight. Still no bigs but a couple of 2's did show up today. With continued warm temps forecast and the river just starting to fall next week looks great but only have 2 days available to go due to doctors visits for Dad and myself. Hope to get in at least one day and find some bigger fish.
Retired and loving every minute of it!
