Rod Selection for Buzzbaits

I have a FR733C and FR735C. I presently use the 733 for spinnerbaits and the 735 for froggin. Can I use the 733 for buzzbaits or should I use the 735?

It all depends on the bait, blade and the trailer, if any.

I wish I could help more but you need to do your homework. Here's hopping you find one that works for everything.

Both recommendations so far have been valid. 


I use buzzbaits quite frequently and I usually throw them on my 743.  With that said,  I mostly use a 1/8 ounce up to a 1/4 ounce with a single blade,  and it works flawlessly with those sizes.  If you are throwing one of those monster buzzbaits with dual blades and a full size horny toad as a trailer,  then you will probably want to use the 735.  If you are throwing something similar to what I listed,  then a 743 handles the great.


To add to that,  it depends also what you are fishing it in.  I fish mostly moderate to no grass with a 743.  I use a 734 when I am on Lake Seminole or Lake Talquin fishing heavy grass,  but it is more for hauling fish out of the grass than the  bait itself.  BassinLou fishes south FL in the heavy grass,  and thus recommends a 735.

Of those two I would choose the 735 but use a Sierra 734 for most of my buzzbaits.
