I'm back!!! The surgery went well, I've been home since Saturday afternoon, everything looks good now comes the road to recovery, it's going to be a lot of work but I'm used to it and will be working very hard to get back to a normal life and hopefully more bass fishing. It's good to be back and I hope all is well with everybody.

Rodney, now you will be able to get some therapy shoveling snow pretty soon now.  That should put you in shape for spring fishing.

Put the boat back into storage for a bit.  Just to darn hot to enjoy it.  Heat index temps heading up to the triple digits again this week with 105 expected on Thursday thru Sunday.

After much consideration, I have decided to do a prop swap on the ranger to replace the 27 pitch prop that is currently in service.  Now looking for a 23 or 24 pitch as soon as I can get one.  Intel reveals that the problem I had a while back that took out my drive shaft was probably due to having to tall of a prop.  Time to nip that problem as soon as possible.  The wife is not happy about me willing to spend another $500 or so but then again I did not seek her guidance or permission.  I am gonna do it regardless just because it needs to happen.  As most of you know that will turn out to be a whole other story. It just happens to be the penalty that I am more than willing to pay.

Greetings from Central Texas  8)

Clear Sunny Skies with the heat index its a 110dgrs with 47% humidity across Central Texas  ~sweat :surrender:   I'm glad I work indoors  ~shade

We had a busy day at work today.  We put the cafeteria furniture back in place.  We got in line with the safe distance policy of being 6ft from one another.   We have a huge storage room 1/2 full of cafeteria furniture now.  The Principal told me I had to move my equipment from one of the storage rooms I'd been promised.  I now share the storage room with the cafeteria furniture.  There's nothing else that will / can fit into that room.  One thing about this cafeteria setup we won't be rearranging anything for quiet a while  ~c~  On that room I'm sharing I need to submit a Service Order to have some electrical outlets installed.  They built this room without any outlets in it  ~b~ ~xyz  There is a light switch  ~shade

My team starts working their Shift hours tomorrow.  We're still ( 8 ) personnel short from the Night Shift.  I foresee a lot of Overtime  & Team Cleaning being worked here for the next month or two.   I have a Zoom meeting tomorrow so I guess we'll find out how were going to do this thing.  I've heard lots of rumors about split classes and having Wednesdays & Saturday's as a Deep Cleaning Day.

The principal mentioned that we'll not be using all of the classrooms but she hasn't informed me of which ones.  The ones we're not going to use I want to Stockade them and lock the door.

Bud; I hear ya buddy.  I've been wanting to tinker with my boats but it just to darn hot.  Most guys I know run a 23" inch prop on their 150 hp outboards.  That's what I have on my Yamaha 150 VMax and it preforms extremely well.  I got a great hole shot and WOT is 63.5mph.

My wife here while back made a comment about me spending some money on my boats.  I just smiled and thanked her for buying them for me.  I was really surprised she made that comment.  The money I spend on my boats comes from my Overtime Pay I receive from working  ~shade

Good luck on getting that new prop.  Hope the Johnson and the Ranger perform at a higher level for ya once you get it rigged up.

Rodney; Welcome home buddy  ~c~  Glad to see ya on line and glad to hear that things went well for ya during your surgery.  Best wishes for ya on the recovery  ;)

Steve; Have you been up to Seoul to check out your new place yet?  I guess you'll be living in an apartment again wont' you?  I don't remember seeing a lot of single family homes there of course that was 43yrs ago.  Good luck with the move and everything.  Hope your able to get out and fish some once you move up there.  I was on google earth a few days ago looking around.  There seems to be a couple rivers up in around Seoul you might be able to fish.

Sixpack; Glad to see ya back this way.  You caught me off guard with that Level 9 comment.  I finally figured it out  ~b~

Lip; Hope all well with the wife there buddy.  We have everyone there in our daily prayers.

SHC; How's things down your way?  Hope all's good with the family.

To everyone enjoy a peaceful and quiet evening.  Hopefully tomorrow will be a Blessed Day for youns.

Donald, yes we will be living in an apartment. Houses in the city are few and far between, and they are super expensive  ^-^
There are some places in the city to fish for bass, but from what I have heard they are not very good. Most people travel out of the city to bass fish. The big river that runs right through the city (Han River) has bass in it, but fishing can only be done from the bank. There are ramps located all over the place for pleasure boats, jet-skies etc, but for whatever reason fishing from a boat is not allowed   ~rant ~rant

Well hopefully you won't have to live on the upper tier of the high rise apartments.  That sux about not being allowed to bass fish from your boat on that river.  Ya'll be safe moving during this upcoming storm that's moving onto the main land there.  Hope you'll be able to find a place to fish also once you get moved in.

Let the cooling begin.  Although it is still hot here in Myrtle Beach and will remain that way through the weekend, next week is showing signs of a bit of a cool down into the lower to mid 80s.  September is the jump off point towards the fall season and that cooler weather should provide for some real fishing time for the next 3-4 months.  The Mrs. and myself are certainly tired of the summer and are ready for something a bit more comfortable.  Being a senior the hot weather is just not our friend.  Next week the winds are switching over to a East to North East direction and just may help a lot.  Here is hoping.

Tomorrow I have got to find a barbershop somewhere as I am getting very shaggy.  Looks strange with a bald spot up on top and the rest of the hair makes me look like an aging hippy.  A comb over only goes so far before it really looks ridiculous.

On a side note the heat index temps starting tomorrow through Sunday will be 110.  Not good at all Tater.

Rodney, Lip and Smallie hope you guys are getting your health under control and maybe next spring all three of you can give em hell.  Donald you also need to get rid of the heat and fire up the stratos and go chase some of those Texas green fish.  All work and no play will make you crazy after a while.  Polish up those rods, pull on a pair of boots and a ten gallon hat and go get em.

Good evening from Belton, Texas  8)

Woke up this morning to the sound of Thunder, Lighting and Heavy Rain  :shocking: ~rain  I don't know where it came from the radar was clear last night when I last checked.  My rain gauge indicated we got 5 inches of rain at our place.  We had a lot of flash flooding going on around Central Texas this morning.

Our forecasted temps for today were 73-76dgrs with 90% humidity.  There still 15 - 20 % chance of more rain through out the night into early morning.

Well if nothing changes we're starting school next Tuesday morning at 7:40am.  We had a Lead's Meeting this afternoon and received marching orders on how to Deep Clean and how often.  I'm still ( 9 ) personnel short so there's going to be a lot of Over Time and some short tempers here in the coming weeks ahead.  Life will go on if the Almighty above wants it too.

For the next 3 day the school is going to be crawling with parents and kids picking up their Chrome Books, iPads and other items for next Tuesday's Grand Opening of the Lake Belton High School.  With this sudden rain storm we had over night and into the morning here.  We found (5) roof leaks none where serious but none the less the roof needs to have some repairs done to it.   Hopefully it wont take the contractor too long to get the situation corrected.

Bud; Hopefully that triple digit heat won't stay around too long.  It was pretty darn hot here yesterday.  I just got my hair cut last week.  Like you that bald spot is getting wider and I don't have any hair to comb over it.  Yes sir I concur I need to pull the cover off that Stratos and get her wet and practice some casting.  It has been just too darn hot here for the past few weeks / month to even think about being on the water.

Rodney; Hope you had a restful night as much as possible.  Lip; How's things on the Home Front is the wife getting better? Smallie; Brother we still have ya in our daily prayers.  SHC; you still vertical and breathing down your way.

To everyone have a pleasant and safe day tomorrow.

Heat index here at the beach is now 110 with the same forecasted for tomorrow.  The only thing I did to day was get a haircut and stopped by Lowes to pick up a few items I needed.  Just about sundown I will go out and water the flowers and that should be about it for the day.  Gonna hold off on lawn mowing until Sunday or Monday when the temperatures will be dropping back to the upper 80s and the humidity will go down a bit as well.  No sense going out in this heat if you don't have to.  I did pay a few bills today including flood insurance for another year.

The new gas/lift springs for the rod lockers on the Ranger have shipped and are supposed to be here on Tuesday.  My plan is to put them on right away and scratch another item off of my to do list.

Spent a lot of time on the phone yesterday with some Prop specialists in an effort to determine if I should keep my existing 4 blade 27 pitch prop.  The math works out that this prop is within the range for use on the Fast Strike.  It is a bit tall but given the fact I am usually run between 3400 and 4000 rpms the prop will do just fine.  I have found a OMC Renegade that I was thinking of but that dang thing is shown @ $800.00  No thanks on that one even though it is brand new old stock.  I will keep looking and should I find what I am looking for at a reasonable price I may just pick one up.  I would be looking for a Renegade that is 13 1/4 X 23 or 24.  Knowing that my existing prop will do I can be patient in looking for the new prop.

Oldfart9999

Good evening all!!! Nice day, the humidity dropped so 80 felt pretty good. The rehab is moving along, this morning was a bit tough, the pain was really up but I got my workout in fine. I saw the therapist this afternoon, she gave me 3 new exercises to do then we took a walk. We went around the corner and to the end of the block, I was using the walker while she carried the cane, at the end she wanted to know if I wanted to try using the cane and I said yes, made it back home and into the house. She said it looks like I can use the cane for the most part, good deal. My exercises are basically strengthening and stretching by bending the knee, it can be a struggle at times but it's getting done.
BK, hope the move goes well for you and you can find a place reasonably close to launch the boat.
Bud, I understand all about the bald spot, I bought a set of clippers and normally keep run it every 2 weeks, works well. Hope you are able to find the prop you're looking for, will it be a 4 blade?
Donald, any idea when you're up to full strength, with the deep clean tossed in it'll be difficult to take care of your other work. I wish I could launch my boat, the fishing from here on til the end of October gets to be great, lot of big fish also.I think I'm coming along well but each day has it's moments, I think the hardest part is handling how some of the meds make me feel, I know I need them and I'll be off them soon, that's the good news.
Rodney
Old Fishermen never die, their rods just go limp.

Rodney, I will stay with a 4 blade since it does a better job of keeping me on plane at a lower speed.  Not in a hurry at this time but if one should become available then I would likely snap it up.  I will certainly keep my eyes open.

Good evening to everyone,

Rainy overcast day across Central Texas today  ~rain  Our forecasted temps were 71-75dgrs with 94% humidity.  That humidity really kicked butt today.  I was soaking wet from working outside this afternoon for about 30minutes.  In the past (2) days we've gotten over 6inches of rain across Central Texas.  We really needed it bad.  We got 60% chance of more rain later on this evening.

I was busy all day today doing different things.  I had 3 items sitting in the printer / copying machine waiting for me. Spent some time talking with the purchasing agent this morning about the furniture in the Art Rms.  One of the teachers asked me to shorten the table down to 35inches.  I removed the leg screws and made the adjustment with the help of the teachers holding the top of the table.  We got done I looked down the entire top of the table had come loose.  Bottom line the vendor is coming back out to reattached the top of the table to the legs frame.

I talked with my team this morning after a planned fire drill.  Told them to get ready to work a bunch of over time.  I just don't see ( 8 ) people showing up on Tuesday ready to work the Night Shift.  My supervisor didn't mention anything to me about any upcoming interviews either.  Well it didn't take them  long to Lease Out our Sports Complex.  I got a schedule for Youth Football League for Sept and Oct Saturday games.  More over time on Saturday's while working over time during the week.

Our school schedule looks like this.  Monday & Tuesday in school classes /  Wednesday No School Deep Cleaning Occurs / Thursday & Friday in school classes.  The school district will provide On-line classes also.  Tuesday is just around the corner  ~shade

Rodney; Tks for the update really glad to hear you're out walking already and with just your cane  ~c~  Long way to go but with your attitude you got it won't be long for sure.  We still have you in our daily prayers my good man.

I have no idea when my team will be at 100%.  Yes sir I've already explained to the Principal and both Assistant Principals that there will be some areas not properly cleaned or even done at all now.  We're going to do the best we can and I'll make sure we're focused on the Right Things and forego the B. S. parts.

Bud; Did the shocks quit working in your boxes or is this just something your tinkering with?  You know that $800.00 is the price I've seen for a Reconditioned Stainless Steel 23in prop down here in Central  Texas.  Good luck getting the right prop for your Ranger.

Lip; How's the wife doing today?  Better we all hope and pray.

To everyone have a relaxing evening and a I hope tomorrow is a better day for youns.

Donald, the shocks had not worked in over ten years.  The only thing I use both rod locker for is storage but thought it was time to finally fix the darn things.  Since my boat is a dual console, the rod lockers are very short and won't hold a rod over 6 1/2' in length anyway.  So I store things like extra pfds, throwables, fire extinguisher, nav ights and a few other things.  I guess I just wanted them to work correctly.  The rod lockers are the only ones with gas shocks in the entire boat.  I may go ahead and add a shocks to the center bow locker since I keep my soft plastics and an anchor in there.  Oh yeah, my pee jar is also in there. LOL

Stayed inside in the A/C today.  Heat index 110 again.  Cool down forecasted to start tomorrow afternoon late.  I do have to go out tonight and water all the flower beds and then re fill the bird bath and that is all I am planning.  The Gas shocks arrived today but they are gonna have to wait until next week before I put them on.  I don't think those rod lockers will mind waiting a few more days.  I am not going to confront this triple digit heat.

Finsihed  up the refinishing of the dinning room chairs and the bar stools for the kitchen counter.  Everything is back together and the Mrs. seems satisfied for now.  I did touch up some paint on the dining room walls and the kitchen walls.  Just small spots that did not take long to do but  they too passed inspection by she who shall be obeyed.  Unfortunately my to do list is getting longer that will keep me hopping this fall.  I have to clean the exterior siding. wash the windows inside and out, build some brick boarders in a coupe flower beds and then do some repair work on the sidewalk and around the foundation of the house in a few spots.  I have all the material just need some better weather before doing it.  Next week the siding folks are coming by to fix the spot where I backed the boat into the siding near the corner of the garage door.  No doubt another $500 going out the door.  Oh well, it has to be done.

I hear the young man next door is mowing his lawn at this time.  I am gonna wait until Monday or Tuesday after it cools down.  I remember when I was young like our neighbor I too could do that kind of stuff in the heat.  No longer for this old man.

Dog

Been doing ok looks like my blood sugar numbers are getting stable and down where they need to be which is a good thing. Today is my monday and just a total rotten day at work ever since the buy out its been one idiotic thing after another I may do as 85% of everyone else has and jump ship find another place to work.
Getting hotter then you know what again 109 tomorrow and sunday tuesday 102 so going fishing tuesday since the air quality has got better.
Hope to try out them new baits. Hope everyone is doing well and stay safe.

Oldfart9999

Good morning everybody!!! 59, was lower than that, headed to 74, sunny for the most part. Knee is coming along, keep working it and hopefully it'll pay off. Not much else going on.These cool days have a taste of fall in them, we still have more summer like days but they are slowly being overshadowed by the cool ones, bass must be on fire now.
Lip, Dog good to see you both are still around!!! Hope all is well!!!
Bud, could you post some pics of the piston setup when you're done? I'm curious to see how the systems work. I had thought about picking up a Merc Spitfire prop for my boat, it's a 4 blade aluminum based on the Fury prop, the reviews were good but the price was a bit steep at the time. Sometimes on a hard turn the prop slips but I've gotten used to knowing when to back off, it's pretty much automatic now, for the extra couple of mph I'm not sure it's worth it because I don't run wide open.
Donald, the school plan sounds interesting, I hope they get the rest of your crew soon, I know some of your workers won't like the overtime and will leave, maybe some of those who will ask the workers to work overtime instead of being with their families will volunteer to work side by side with them. I'm doing the exercises as best I can, I've found that I need to stretch out the time it takes to do them, the therapist told me doing them that way won't hurt anything and will help me to control the pain a bit better. I watched a video of the same surgery I had, it's no wonder the pain lasts so long, using an electric saw, drilling in studs the bouncing the knee to get things together, it looks like an industrial process, may be nasty looking but I'm glad they can do it, a bit of pain then none works for me.
Have a great week end, be well!!!

Greetings from Central Texas ( Belton )

Mostly overcast with forecasted temps of 70- 95dgrs with 66% humidity.  The rain we've gotten these past couple days have cooled things down.  The ground is moist now not all crunchy like walking on crackers.  The upcoming week's forecast has 20% - 80% chance of rain which good.  Our lakes are low again from all the heat evaporation etc.  I drove by Nolan Lake last Sunday and its like 4ft low.  There is a road built at the base of the dam > Lake side < you can drive across it.  There's usually  2-4ft of water covering that road.

The wife and I went out for breakfast this morning after I went in to the office and done our time sheets.  We went to this Mexican Restaurant across from Walmart.  It's been a long time since I ate at that place.  The wife and one of her friends had lunch there on Thursday.  I had the Pork Chop breakfast with scrambled eggs, (2) saucer size pork chops, potatoes, refried beans, bacon and pancakes with black coffee.  I think the cook was talking with someone while putting the Tabasco sauce in those beans. Those babies were eye watering when you swallowed them  :surrender:  Drinking water didn't help any either   ~shade

We spent the rest of the morning shopping at Walmart and Sam's.  The rest of the day has been relaxing tinkering around on the computer and washing work clothes for next week.  Tuesday will be here soon and the place is going to be crazy with kids.

Rodney; Tks for the update on the knee.  I'm glad you're able to get out and about and exercise it.  We're praying for a full recovery buddy.  I've watched a couple medical videos where they went in and did a knee replacement it was interesting.  You keep at it and before long you'll be out on your own walking and back to being a Gym Rat  ;)

Dog; Tks for the medical update we have you in our daily prayers also.

Bud; That didn't take long to get those gas shocks.  I'm going to hang onto that web site.  I'm planning on changing out my aerators here this coming Spring in my Stratos.  Good luck getting those shocks reinstalled.  You're not going to know how to act when you raise those lids that they stay open by themselves ~shade

Lip; Glad to see ya on line buddy.  Hope things are getting better for the wife.  I know once she gets better things will be getting right for you  ;)

Steve; Has the move up North started happening yet?  You going to move yourself or have a moving company come and do it for ya?

To everyone have a safe and relaxing Labor Day weekend whets left of it.
