does  dobyns make  a spinning rod for throwing crankbaits. I see one for spinnerbaits but not cranks. trying to get more distance by using a spinning rather than casting rod   thanks. have a 704sf would this work??

What cranks are you wanting to throw? Don't believe there is a job the 732 can't do

throw alot of shallow but do some mid cranks also

I use the SA 703 SF for all of my lighter crankbaits.  It's a perfect rod for the lighter baits like a shad rap or shallow crankbaits.

If you are going to be using a spinning rod for cranks the Sierra series would be my recommendation. They have 6' 9" rods in both a 2 and a 3 power, and 7' models from a 0 power (SA 700 SF) all the way up to a 5 power (SA 705 SF), so you should be able to find a model to fish just about any crank you want.

The reason I recommend the Sierras is that their tip action is is just a bit slowe than the same models in the other rod series. Helps with keeping the fish pinned a little better after the hooket.  :-*

Good luck and please keep us posted on what you decide and how you like it.
