  • You going Fishing again? Well Duh, I'm breathing.
Got on a hot Frog bite today and they were choking on them.

Unfortunately it only lasted for an hour or so.

But that’s not the whole story.

I was on the phone talking to my Wife on Speaker as I kept fishing. She had volunteered to watch the boys today so I could get some “me” time.

The Big Girl was the first of the three. But the Bite is one I never will forget.

I had pretty much finished the retrieve and had the rod tip down near the water with about 8-10” of line out when WHOOSE! A Giant Splash right beside the boat. Set the hook and the fight was on with that same amount of line out. The Hook Set so close to the boat made the braid dig in so I couldn’t even let out some line.

The Wife heard me say Wow Right At the Boat and got to listen to the fight and landing job.

Not the first time she had heard me catching a Big One. My PB of 7.8 lbs she was on Speaker talking when she hit.

Was exploring a new area for me and found a few things to my liking. I will be back.

Eternal Optimism. It's what drives me to fish. Next cast is THE cast that will provide the reason why I am here. Big Bass, Small Bass, No Bass-- Everyday and Every Time out learn something. What worked and what didn't and why. In the end go enough days and then, Today is the day that it will all come together and the Fish Gods will smile.

Thanks all.

Yes that is the Scum Frog in Sloppy Toad.

I've watched JT Kenny using them since they came out and land up to 12 lbers on them. He says he thinks the Bass think it's a baby Tilapia, as the color is about right.

Nice fish Fred, it's tough when they hit like that right at the boat.  Good story also.
