I am a BPS kinda guy, I recently got 2 Tourney special baitcast combos, and I love them.  Wifey bought me the Rick Clunn edition combo for Christmas and Honestly the The tourney special are quit comprable.  Not as smooth but basically the same construcion.  If I could only figure out what type of line to use????  any help out there?

If I am buying a reel, it will be Shimano. That said, I do have a Pflueger President spinning reel, and a BPS Extreme baitcaster that see use. IMO, Shimano makes the best reels, hands down. The Pflueger is a nice reel, but I prefer my Shimano Sonora over it. The only reason the Extreme sees use is because I have not bought a Citica to put on it.

As far as rods, Right now I do not have 2 of the same make rods. I am planning on switching to all Airrus rods ASAP, though.

Shimano reels (I must admit I got a coupld of BPS cheap 60$ deals that I use all the time and love) I will likely not buy anything besides St Croix rods from now on.  I have loomis, falcon, all star and the only one that is close is the Lomis and it costs 4 times what the St Croix did and it is only as good, not better. I gave my Dad (who is cheap  :)) a new St. Croix and he already has 2 others now and before that he never had spent more than about $40 on a rod.

Use nothing but Quantum PT tour edition reels both casting and spinning and they are mated with St. Croix or Gloomis rods. :)
