It's that time of week again. Sorry for the late report but the sponsors, tournaments and trips have had me going from can till can't everyday. We have started to have some better fish stacking up on the main river ledges and open water humps in the mid lake section and on the lower end the fishing is everywhere. We have boated them by every tactic you can think, deep, shallow, topwater, and sight fishing. The numbers are not where they need to be this time of year but picking up. It seems like when the fish are starting to get stable another blast of cold north air hits and throws the bite off for me. I have had the bigger bites come from the mid to upper river on secondary points and open water grass lines. The swimming of big worms is getting slammed rigged with a 1/8th bullet head and 5/0 EWG hook. most have come on Junebug, and green Pumpkin.  I did try a jig bite for the first time in awhile with no takers except on docks in 4 feet of water, Black Pumpkin and Camo with either a black or green Pumpkin trailer doing the trick. On a trip last Monday the wind got up and a front was headed this way. I had some firsttimers for Guntersville on board and just not getting the bite we needed. I picked up a new bait from Jackall called Mask in a chart/green back (jerkbait) and got slammed. I then handed it to my client and watched him boat 6 fish in the next 20 mins. to end the day on a good note. The most consistant bite has come from the big worm and topwater worked slow over sumerged milfoil/Hydrilla beds.
Well that is about it for now but I will try to get some more info for you in the coming trips. Also I dont think I will make it for the Dale Hollow Rally. As bad as I hate it I have had several clients want trips that week and as you know I am doing this as a main source of income so cant turn them down right now. Hope everyone has a great time and be sure to stop on your way back thru and get on some "BIG G" toads. Feel free to give us a call anytime. See you on the water
God Bless

So how has everyone been doing at Guntsville. We still haven't had any luck. I am so frustrated. I wasn't able to go with my father in law for one of the tournament. So another guy fished with him and he caught a three pound and my father in law caught 4 keepers and then add the three pounder. I keep telling him it must be me being the bad luck. Any tips on getting rid of the bad luck. I have fished every way I know how and have bought may new lures trying to caught fish. Any help or tips are appreciated. thanks

Don't feel bad...my trips haven't been as productive this year as in the past.  @!%#*$   Don't give up on her yet, She can show her ugly side  In Shock but some times she shows her good side  Cool

Something I have learned on this lake Is not always presentation, but more location and presentation.  I hate to say it, but there is too much grass (SEE BELOW!!!).   An area will look bassy as all get out, not a fish in town.  Case in point this past Saturday I pull up on a strip of freshly topped out gunk.  There were fish in there, but no bass.  IF they were there, they wern't biting, but the gar were...whew.

Tell you what, give me a shout, via PM or Email and maybe we can get a trip up sometime or another.

Eric

Too Much Grass?
To me there is alot of grass which in this time of year, you could fish different areas all day and come up empty.  Some of the areas hold fish, others don't.  The grass statement came from the lack of Sleep, just over look that please.  I love the grass...  Cool
