Pax, Jason, glad to have you here. Jason, I'm pretty sure you are already posting there but be sure to check out the Eastwood Baptist Church board. I'm looking foward to fishing this year with ya'll guys. Pax, I'm also in the Twin Cities Team Club. It's a blast. You might want to check it out. Mike, MotherNature, Noble, Fogy, Papa... and several others fish it. You might want to check out our board in the Club area.

Hello everybody, just joined today. I grew up in Metairie but now am living in Bossier City. My first choice for fishing is Saltwater, but figured I better learn about bass fishing as I can't run down south every weekend. I am definitely looking forward to learning some tips and techniques from everybody that posts here. My boat is a '99 Baystealth 1880 Center Console with a '99 Yamaha 150 Saltwater Series II (I am sure there are not too many of these up here!). If you see me out on Cypress or the Red River, give me a holler!

I just moved to Lake Charles from Texas I have been fishing the calcasieu river for the last couple of weeks but, I haven't gotten the results I wanted. I have fished lakes but never any rivers. What is the key to finding the big bass. Also if anyone can help me to update my profile i would appreciate it.

Thank you,
Chris

First off welcome to Ultimate Bass  Clap We are glad to have you.

We haven't had to many reports from the Toledo Bend area lately. Normally this time of year a good pattern is to look for hydrilla on the flats leading towards the major creeks and working red rattle traps around, through and over the top of the grass. I have seen a spinner bait do well with this as well.

Then there is the fact that it's Toledo Bend and a carolina rig on points and grass flats works well too. The first trick is to find the depth that they will be at. Most waters around hear are just starting to cool off real good and the bass are putting on the fall feed bags. So being further south that me (Bossier area) you should be in for a great day of fishing Clap Be sure to let us know how it turns out.

You might make a post in the open Louisiana fishing board and see if you can get more folks to help you out as well.

Again welcome to Ultimate Bass, we look forward to seeing you around the site.
