Rubber Skirt collars...endless possibilities
« on: March 29, 2007, 04:55:29 PM »

i have been messing around with the rubber skirt collars that are used to hold jig and spinnerbaits skirts on...and here are a few things I have come up with...

On a spinnerbait, put on the trailer hook, and then thread a skirt collar on after it.  It holds the trailer hook on good, and it easier to take off.

On a regular, straight shank worm hook...before skin hooking the bait, slide on a rubber collar, and snug it up close to the worm.  The barbs that are meant to keep the worm in place actually grab the collar, and keep it from sliding down.

on a shakey head...rig the front of the worm as normal, but then slide on a collarand get it snug against the head.  It won't slide down!
