Hello Kickin Bass,
The Pond Orellie River can be spooky at times so be careful.
The sand bars are the least you have to watch out for.
Pilings and deadheads are things you want to watch for.
I had a tree stand up on end one time right next to the boat.

Now for the fishing.
When you launch out of Cusik there is a slough just above the bridge that has always been good to me.
Fish any and all of the fence posts that you find..A lot of the sloughs have fences across them so watch the banks.
My son and a friend of his has been catching Pike up around Newport.
There are several good sloughs down River from Cusik. Ruby Creek and Trout Creek are good.Make sure you stay on the West bank as the Indian Res is on the East down from the bridge. If you want to make a run,Tiger slough is down River from the outpost a few miles on the left hand side.
The Pend Orellie is a great place for 6 in worms,Lizards and Rapalas. Most of the fish up there feed on small Bluegill about 1 and a 1/2 to 2 inches.I have caught a lot of fish right there at the bridge.
